The issue is that after removing a dead battery pack, can the above notebook work with only power adapter?
There is no schematic available so I use the LA-G07DP for the regulator SY8286B.
[ATTACH=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"thumb","data-attachmentid":3166098}[/ATTACH]
At the 3V regulator the needed +3VPCU is 0,2V with 4,4V at the enable pin 11 [EN2].
When I have the battery connected I get the 3,3V at +3VPCU.
For the battery circuit I use schematic DAG35AMB8E0

OMEN DAG3BDMBAC0 can it work without battery?

Well for future usage as I have same model with other issue I was able to test some bios files.
The bios from post 1 is version 1.05 and will work ok.
The bios from post 2 which is version 1.18 didn't worked for me. It is the same I found at huawei support.
I also tried updating the bios from the huawei application to 1.19 version but after that I had no display too.
So at my case the only working is the 1.05 that I already had.

DA0G7EMBAE0 need help to find the missing 3.3V regulator
Well it seems the board had some minor liquid damage and somebody had tried before to repair it.
Currently it has the 19V but I noticed that the 3.3V regulator is missing.
The 5V one is the RT6258C and the 5V LDO works fine.
What part could I try for the 3V?
The is no schematics available for this one but I guess some similar model could use the same configuration.Last edited by rookieme; 11-28-2023, 06:06 AM.

Re: Gateway model: GWNR71517-BK
I uploaded the bios and the sn.
I did a search at acer but I didn't managed to find it.
thank you...

Re: Gateway model: GWNR71517-BK
Thank you for your reply and for reminding the rules.
I did a reading again at rules but couldn't find what I did wrong here.
I haven't uploaded any files or post any s/n in order to not complicate the original request.
I posted to confirm that the original posted bios can boot but will not work properly.
This model uses amd processor and all I could find was info of fixing intel bios....

Re: Gateway model: GWNR71517-BK
Hello, I have the same model with no boot issue so I tried the faulty bios at post 1 and it boots but it has all the issues that are described. With hdd or bootable usb it just hangs and when there are no any boot devices it boots to bios.
Sadly I wasn't able to find a working one and the gateway gives no bios files too.

Re: Asus x415EA no pover after first mosfet, notorious BQ24780S
As I currently have a open repair with the same controller let's do some checks.
The dc-in fets are n-ch? What is the gate voltage at them?
At mine [motherboard powers on ok] I have 24,87 V at gates and the PROCHOT is 0V too. My only problem it that it doesn't charge battery so PROCHOT could be ok with the 0V.

Re: NM-C861 BQ24780S charging issue
JBAT pin5 has 10k resistance to pin15 of PU201 as it should.
Pin23 at PU201 is indeed that low.
Unfortunately I don't have an oscilloscope to test the gates.
I had some thoughts for the kbc [IT8227E-128 CXS] so I tried a IT8227E-128 CXA that I had available but I was unable to program it the correct EC dump even if I was able to read its dump.
Now I have put back the original kbc but I'm unable even to read its dump.
Should I order the CXS version of it to try?

Re: Acer 6930g-no power
Your motherboard has 4 data lines from hdd to southbridge.
Also takes the 3,3V and the 5V.
You could measure if there is voltage drop at the two power lines when you have the hdd connected.
You could also try if you don't use the dvd drive to remove it and place a hdd caddy there to put the hdd there.

Re: NM-C861 BQ24780S charging issue
at JBAT pins
1,2 - 11,14V with & without adapter
3,4 - 3,33V with & without adapter
5 - 0,3V with & without adapter
6 - 0V with & without adapter
at BQ24780S pins with adapter
18 - 11,11V
23 - 0,16V
24 - 6,07V
25 - pulsing from 11 to 12,7V
26 - pulsing from 8,5 to 11V
27 - 12,7V
I'm not sure what you mean with the supply and resistances PL 201 but the resistance from pin1 to pin2 is zero and the the resistance to ground is 102k with black probe...

Re: Acer 6930g-no power
Have you checked with a second hdd too?
If not the hdd could have a short and it's shorting the power rails.
Also the hdd is connecting to the southbridge so do a visual check there and at hdd motherboard connector.

Re: NM-C861 BQ24780S charging issue
The first issue was that it could not power on with adapter only and after replacement of the charging ic this was solved.
Now only issue it that battery is not charging and the orange light at the dc jack without ac which is more like a hint and not much of a problem.
Battery is good and tested in a working laptop.

In this case the is no such divider as you can see at the photo...

Re: NM-C861 BQ24780S charging issue
The R2 resistor is at the SSD circuit.
The dc-in fets use the PR202 & PR206 so which one you mention?

Re: NM-C861 BQ24780S charging issue
they are 20,10V & 26,21V accordingly
I have a similar model [NM-C821] that uses the same charge circuit so I was able to compare them. The main difference is that the faulty one has 0,163V voltage drop at PR209 and the working one has only 0,027V.
Both the resistor and the IC have already been replaced as mentioned above.
One more hint is that led2 [orange light at dc jack port] usually stays on when the system is turned off and I disconnect the ac adapter, even if I use a charged battery.
The led2 is...

NM-C861 BQ24780S charging issue
Hello,
The system was able to power on with battery but not always with power adapter only.
The only issue so far was the VCC of the BQ24780S that was fluctuating from 16 to 19 V so I replaced the IC and the PR209 so the VCC is stable now at 19,10V.
I have checked for shorts dc-in mosfets PQ201 & PQ202, PR206 & PR207 are ok, battery shunt resistors PR222 & PR224 have correct values, ACDET is 2,78V, ACOK 3,3V, PR201 has 19,5V.
At battery EC_SMCA & EC_SMDA are about 3,25V.
ACP to ACN pin loop is 1,1 Ohm
any help is appreciated
