Re: Asus X551CA no power and no led
ISSUE RESOLVED!!!!! As i suspected the bad mosfes qm3024 was shorted, used my past experience and picked an AO7410 from a hp donor board, NOW I GOT POWER, LED LIGHTS, AND FAN SPINNING...SUCCESS!!
My problem might not be the same as your but YOUR CHARGING CIRCUIT ALWAYS HAS TO BE CHECKED FIRST when no power issues arises.
good luckComment

) and replacing the SIO/KBC fixed it, nothing else blew up.
For power on no display issue above flash BIOS, should work.Originally posted by PeteS in CARemember that by the time consequences of a short-sighted decision are experienced, the idiot who made the bad decision may have already been promoted or moved on to a better job at another company.Comment

Re: Asus X551CA no power and no led
i have 2 boards, each one had PQ8807 mosfet burned, after replacement board turns on, everything works except charging.
System detects charger and shows charging but no actuall charging is provided (no voltage from PL8801. ACOK and ILIM pins works as they should.
I must mention that i replaced BQ24725 with new one.
Any advice?Last edited by lord; 01-23-2017, 06:07 AM.Comment

Re: Asus X551CA no power and no led
Hi.
I need you're help. I have the same laptop but the problem is very strange. If i push power button the light goes on but shuts down in 2 second. If i try it like a 100 times then maybe it booths up.
Tried replacing the power adapter but is still the same.
Maybe you can point where to look for the problem.
Thanks.

Re: Asus X551CA no power and no led
I'm facing the same issue, I unplug all power sources (2032 battery included), press the power button for 30 seconds and then wait a few minutes then plug the mobo battery and DC adapter and try to turn on the laptop. It turns on for about 20 seconds, it boots the BIOS config and immediately after a few seconds it turns off and won't turn on again for about 5 hours when doing the procedure I described in the beginning of this post.
I saw a russian video on youtube that says that there are mosffets that control voltage and changing them should fix the problem but I lack the experience to do such operation.Comment

by GLISITHi all,
TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!
I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by PantherDaveHi all!
I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅
I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

by ShadowAiHello, I have an issue with the motherboard. Specifically, it doesn't power on, more precisely, the POST initialization doesn't occur.
Let me start from the beginning, the motherboard suddenly stopped working one day. There are no beep signals from the speaker, and the debug LEDs are not lighting up. After inspecting it under a microscope and using thermal imaging, I didn't find anything that could be damaged.
After that, I began voltage measurements, in which I noticed the absence of VDDQ, VDDP, VTT, and VPP lines. Later, I checked if there is an EN state on these lines,... -
by meraklinetxHello, I have an asus Z97-A motherboard and it doesn't start which was working properly before, the problem isn't related by ram, ram slots or psu (I changed all and nothing work), the exact problem is when you switch it on , it starts and after 1 seconds (no boot or display picture) it's off and then on cycle continuously until you power it off from psu also it's responding to the power switch for turning it off if you keep pressing it 3 or 4 seconds (power button pin has 3.3v) , also when you start it with eatx 12v socket connected this is happening (power cycle also all voltages are resetting...
