Samsung NP300V5A - LCD panel issue

I'm looking at one of these for a colleague at work, attached a photo of what the panel displays. The bottom quarter or so shows a pink hue.

I'm wondering if this is strictly a panel issue, not something to do with the motherboard/GPU ?

And what might have caused this, IYO? And is it fixable as is?

    Is that the original display?
I've seen this before as a mismatch between the screen and the laptop.
e.g. an Asus display in a Dell laptop..

It does look like a bad panel, but check out the cable first, give it a wiggle and reseat both ends.

        I forgot about this thread.

After a bit more dismantling, I found some sticky residue in the bottom right corner of the screen, it looked like there had been a spill of a sugary drink into it.

A new screen sorted it out.

Samsung UN65TU8000 - Panel Issue [ hole in ribbon cable ]
          by NWArkGuy
Well, I will be the first to admit that I screwed up...

In attempting to replace the backlight in a UN65TU8000, I made a hole through one of the ribbon cables between the board that runs along the bottom of the back of the TV and the panel. This lead to a between a 1/4 to 1/2 inch vertical stripe running the full height of the image.

I don't have the experience; personally, to solder a bridging wire for the paths that were cut. So, I have been on the hunt for other Samsung TV's of similar size.

I have 2 that I have found and have in my possession. ...

Samsung UN50TU8000 - Dead Panel Forensic Questions
          by KYBOSH
I came across a 50inch TU8000 that wouldnt start up properly (blinking stand-by light, backlights would cycle on and off).

When i opened it up and removed the power to the mainboard the backlights powered up and everything looked uniform.
When reconnected the mainboard but disconnected the flex cable to the panel i heard the TV startup with the intro sound.

Later I checked for shorts on the panel PCB boards but could not find anything.
When I took a look with the FLIR i noticed the 2 resistors...

Samsung SyncMaster 740n Phase Control Issue
          by vincentedel
          Hello,
I'm having an issue with the Samsung 740n's phase control setting. When I use the automatic adjustment, it sets the value to around 54 (with a range of 0-100), and the picture looks clear and sharp. However, after some time—like after playing a game—the text starts to look blurry. When I auto-adjust again, it may increase the value to 80, and everything becomes sharp once more. Yet, after a while, whether it's a few hours or a day later, the same blurriness returns, and I have to adjust it again.

I'm using the Samsung 740n monitor drivers instead of the default plug-and-play...

          QE65Q800TATXXC Samsung TV Issue
          by Manucsl
          Hello.

My TV is a QE65Q800TATXXC Samsung TV.

Issue : When you plug the 220V, voltages are OK on the power board and you can hear the click from the relay, but TV is not starting when power button is pressed. Red led is blinking when you press power button. But no images or sound ( Back-light is off )
Then if you disconnect the cable from the main board to the power supply, the TV back-light turns on.
Any ideas to check would be very appreciated 😊

After reading some posts on this forum, I suspect an eeprom issue so I bought a CH341A to dump...
