Re: HP Pavilion G4 has no 5vS5 and 3.3vS5
Maybe you can compare your findings with this link. The board is the same.

Re: HP G7-1000 series R22 mobo problem
Update,
Measured all big coils and PL18 and PL19 show short.
PQ37 show short on pin 4, leading to PU1 pin 29.
PU1 pin 36 show short on pin, but not on resistor PR4 and cap PC4, so it must be PU1
Removed PU1 and short is gone. Removed PQ37 first to be sure it was PU1
Now wait for new ISL6265A for which I can't find a compatible.
Thank so far guys

HP G7-1000 series R22 mobo problem
Hi Folks,
Need some help, please.
I have a G7-1000 mobo with AMD cpu that won'nt turn on.
Replaced U3 already, since this is often the cause by these boards. no luck.
I don't get the +VIN. Till PQ38 pin 4 19,6V is present and pin 1 and pin 3 are 0V.
When I detach pin 3 from the board, pin 1 becomes 25,6V and pin 3 = 19,6 V.
I don't measure a short on the island from pin 3, but 36,8 Ohm all the way further down the line on all the components.
Can somebody point me in the right direction? I need some advise how to look at ...

Re: Palvilion G6-2000 will not turn on
Regretfully the mobo has gone electronic heaven.
I put 3V on the 3VPCU line and U22 PCH got hot.
No chance for me to change that one, so end of story.
Thx for all the advise from the few above.

Re: Make laptop charger!!
If you search Ebay on "universal adapter plug", you also find some suppliers in USA.

Re: Make laptop charger!!
IMO there is no way you can built an adapter cheaper than that, The onliest thing you will need is a set of adapter plugs.

Re: Palvilion G6-2000 will not turn on
Overview in one color. Now you can select the voltage lines you want en take away the background color, so you can see better than the one with all the colors.
let me know...

Re: Palvilion G6-2000 will not turn on
at the moment I have a short on the 1.05V_VTT line, 3V line, 3VS5 line, 5VS5 line, and maybe some more. All these lines have 0,00 ohm to gnd.
In order to find out where to look, I made a overview of the pages from the schematics. Now I want to look on which pages the shorted voltages come all together. I think that the page where all of them are, can indicate where to look.
Please comment if this is a good approach or an useless approach. thx....

Re: Palvilion G6-2000 will not turn on
Thx for the advice, sorry for the ignorance, I'm but an amateur.
I have to wait till new PU8 arrive to continue or maybe I can try to find the short before that....

Re: Palvilion G6-2000 will not turn on
Thank you for your clear answer.
Since nobody answered , I tried already to see if led lights up(very briefly),so that's why I have a big short now between 3VS5, +1.05V_VTT? And components on 5VS5 line give 13,6 ohm resistance. And after many hours I can't find the problem.
Disconnected PL24 + PL24 and the short appears to be at the output side and not at the PU8 side
Disconnected PL17 and the short there seens to be also on output side and not at PU13 side.
Any idea where to look is...Last edited by bicalov; 07-13-2016, 02:38 AM.
