Wifi problem MacBook Pro unibody mid 2012

I need help with a MacBook Pro mid 2015 with liquid damage. I cleaned the board and put in back in and started it up but it would only go so far into the boot than shut down? I than disconnected all components and reconnected them one by one and found that the wifi cable was the problem, boot so far and shut down. disconnect the wifi cable and it will boot no problem?? Ethernet works fine. Wifi and Bluetooth is on the same cable. Has anyone experienced this problem? any ideas where to look for a salutation?

check the coil if shorted to gnd, check the power PP3V3_S3_WLAN if exist
        check Q3550 if shorted

Thanks again. and please excuse my limited knowledge in some of these areas but Just to be sure when you say coil are we talking L3504? I'am away for a couple of days and unable to take these measurements till I get back.

                Thanks polytek I am getting 3.3volts on pin 1 c3550,c3521 c3520 & pin 1&2 l3504
I am not sure how to check q3550 to gnd? Q3550 on the board has 6 contacts and the schematic and bview it is showing only 4 contacts?

can you post a photo of the mosfet on the board,
here the datasheet of the mosfet you need to check D-S; G-S,G-D for short or low resistance.

Yet another 3115 board with the same problem. Did anyone fix this?

My board had L3508 (camera 5V coil) burned which caused a bit of burn damage to the board surface. I cleaned the damage and replaced the coil. The board boots now and camera is working fine.

However it only boots fine if wifi cable is disconnected. When cable is connected it boots but shuts down on the Mac OS login screen. If I try to boot from USB (holding Option key after post) it shuts down too; I guess because it activates wifi card immediately.

EFI ASD does not find any issues (I can only run ASD if wifi board disconnected, so it did not test airport board). Same with OS ASD - no issues, but wifi/BT not tested as it had to be disconnected.

One thing I noticed is that when it shuts down, the green light on MagSafe starts blinking and there is a "ticking" sound coming from the board, like tick-tick-tick...

Last observation - if I connect wifi card but disconnect all four wifi/bluetooth antenna wires, it may even boot into OS and not shut down. I am not sure how stable it will be in that condtion though.

Once I removed L3504 (wifi 3.3V power) it will also boot fine; obviously WiFi would not work here but at least it does not shut down.

It all looks like overloading on 3V3 rail, but I cannot find what causes it. The resistance to ground / diode mode on 3V3 rails:

                              - PP3V3_S5: 200K / 0.152
                              - PP3V3_S4: 0.384 in diode mode (cannot measure RTG as it fluctuates because of lot of capacitors)
                              - PP3V3_S3: 6K / 0.356
                              - PP3V3_S0: 4K / 0.354

Unfortunately I don't have known good 3115 board now so I can't compare the values.

                              Appreciate any hint or help.

                                    Hi everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.

                                    🛠 Original Issue
                                    The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.

I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.

⚠️ New Problem: One USB-C Port Only Works in One Orientation...

I received a 2013 Macbook Air A1466 820-3437-B motherboard with serial number C02L6GQ9FSV8 that came in WITHOUT a bios chip. I got a new bios chip and reprogrammed it. Macbook now powers on but doesn't boot the SSD. I've flashed a ton of bios but still same problem. Windows installation works with this Macbook but never a mac installation. Unfortunately, since I didn't receive this macbook with a bios chip, I don't have the original bios. What can I do now?...

Hello, I am looking for any and all files related to the mainboard for 820-2565-A (13" Macbook Pro A1278 mid 2012) schematics/board view.

I looked through forum search results and google and was unable to find a board view file, I found a pdf of all the schematics but I don't know where the parts physically are on the board as this is my first macbook board level repair attempt.

The macbook charger has a green light, the battery has been replaced and OS reports Normal status but Not charging. After cleaning a corroded capacitor it crumbled off the board. There...

                                    Hello all,

                                    I am repairing a Macbook A2337 and i have a problem
The Macbook is stuck in restore as someone before me tried a DFU restore and bricked the device, now i can't do a restore as AC2 throws error 1 which is related to the trackpad.
When i turn on the device i get the trackpad click for a few moments and then nothing, i tried 7 trackpads and 7 trackpad flats, i know all 7 are functioning okay, especially one as i use it for testing and DFU restore.
I inspected the whole board and everything seems fine.
Can anyone help me as i didn't fiddle with trackpad...

Will I have a bricked logic board after reflow of the GPU v-core U8900 chip on my Mid-2012 15" Retina Macbook pro?

Hi everyone! I'm trying to fix my black screen / failed U8900 GPU v-core on my Mid-2012 Macbook Pro 15" Retinaby doing a rework/reflow of the chip (once I determine that's the real issue; but it likely is).

I've been disabling the GPU in NVRAM for a few years... but it's just time for a better solution.

I'm new to soldering but the only feasible way to fix this issue is to do something myself.

                                    MY QUESTION:
I've been seeing some people (on this forum mostly) run into issues with the logic board needing a serial number or it being deactivated (?)...
