One other question: how was your ca
Yes the capture card required power from the HDMI port.
I picked up the unit from a neighbor who was moving that was way beyond the warranty date....

Re: 9242 PVR broken HDMI port
Thanks Bud some great reading and a lot to think about. Looks like I may have to pull it apart for a closer look. A schematic certainly would be a great help.

Re: 9242 PVR broken HDMI port
Thanks Bud you are right a bell receiver I have not checked that issue? I have not had any issues with the unit other than suddenly loosing the HDMI port and I am still using it connected to the AV port. These bad caps could explain the loss of both the HDMI and Component ports??...

Re: 9242 PVR broken HDMI port
Thanks for the replies and I will try the method suggested by cheeky2, but what is puzzling is why would I loose the component port that had no cables plugged into it prior?? Is it possible that I blew the chip as mentioned by diif by plugging the video capture card into the hdmi port on the receiver? Both these ports are not recognized by my TV setsLast edited by davg; 10-29-2021, 05:24 AM.

9242 PVR broken HDMI port
Not sure if this is the right place to post this or not but I did some research and didn't find any threads supporting this issue. Here is my problem; The HDMI and Component ports on my 9242 PVR receiver quit working. The HDMI and Component cords do check out and these ports are working on my LG smart TV. I unplugged both the PVR and the TV and plugged back in after 2 min. but still no video on these ports. I also tried the PVR on another TV set and nothing. Any idea what could cause this? I did plug a Video capture card into the HDMI port?? could this have something to do with it? although it...Last edited by davg; 10-23-2021, 04:44 PM.

Re: JVC CA-NXPS1 compact component system AC/DC charger
Thanks to all who responded. Very much appreciated Tks SMDFlea for the service manual. I do have a better understanding of the issue and I am satisficed that I can use the 19V 3.42A adaptor without causing major if any problems to my system.
ps;
In the same move I also lost the Remote Control for that unit?? The unit is still functional but programing it is rather difficult/impossible. Any suggestions on a replacement.

Re: JVC compact component system AC/DC charger
No takers on this question? If I posted it in the wrong section I apologize? If its a stupid question again I apologize? But for those dealing with the same issue on power supplies here is a great article that explains it quite well https://www.groovypost.com/howto/choose-right-power-adapter-charger-phone-laptop/Re: JVC compact component system AC/...aling with theLast edited by davg; 10-03-2021, 06:54 AM.

JVC CA-NXPS1 compact component system AC/DC charger
I am missing the power supply for my CA-NXPS1audio system. It calls for DC-23V 2.5 Amps. I have a ReTrak Universal Adaptor that supply DC 19V 3.42A. I have use this adaptor on my system for about 20-30min and it seems to run fine?
My question is; what kind of damage am I likely to cause to my NX-PS1 using this power supply over an extended period of time.

Re: IPad activation lock
There are a lot of sources out there who say they can provide the unlocking service for a fee? just wondering how legit they are and if anyone has tried any of these services with any success. I am reading that Apple has blocked a lot of the free services including jailbreaking?

Re: IPad activation lock
another option is to buy (on aliexp e..y ) new kit of serial number bluetooth and wifi mac address and change it with serial cable in purple mode with tools like magiccfg
since you have a ipad pro 1 is still not supported, so you have to desolder the nand and change those values reprogramming it.
Re: IPad activation lock
Model A1459 iPad Pro Wifi only.
So in that video just what is it that is being removed and do it have to be replaced? It appears it is being scraped off with a pair of tweezers and not needed afterwards?? Hope I am not asking to many silly questions....

Re: IPad activation lock
Thanks guys but the process is much to extensive and would probably cost more than the 4th generation iPad is worth. I will probably bite the bullet and return it to the e-waste
