Macbook pro A1278 no power with led green on magsafe

    Hi!
this is my first macbook and i'm trying to repair it.
I have read many posts but they can't solve my problem.

on the mainboard there isn't any burnt component and the main fuse is ok.

in the picture you can see my first measures near the main connector.
    Hope someone helps me

Re: Macbook pro A1278 no power with led green on magsafe

making measure all around the board without a logic is no sense. this big thing with all 0 volt is lan filter..... useless to measure for now.

i asked for 2 measure on these 2 coils (inductor) in my previous post.

next report voltage on green zone.

            total 2 measure+ 1 ground.

            u should have on green spot (white fuse) 12.5 volt ;
3.42 on the other green marked area.

if u have 3.3 volt on coil, u have 12.5 volt on that green marked fuse, and if u have 3.35 or higher (not over 3.42) u can put a fan, some ram slot, lvds connector with lcd and short that circled 2 dot on mainboard with a wtezer (smc bypass) and see if macbook start normally.

before all that, make sure u understand that procedure right. shorting those 2 pins should make your macbook start, so put fan, ram ecc ecc and be carefull to not short anything else. put all component on a non conductive zone.

u can try with magsafe only, with battery only , and with both.

            any throuble, ask before act.

in the green marked zone i have 12.5, the same voltage on the near white fuse

there are 2 green marked zone.. one left (white fuse) one circled green with short write. post voltage on those 2 pads. one is ground so no voltage, but the other should have voltage around 3.42volt.

follow procedure of smc bypass by shorting green circled mark (3.45volt and gnd) with ram and fan connected and report if macbook start.

report voltage in marked green coil (inductor)

suspect u misisng 3.3 volt as bios doesnt have 3.3 volt.

down the arrow there is bios chip. post voltage.

(the other one in first picture was lan chip)

missing component marked with green circle.

                                    code: u7740

                                    component: TPS720105

                                        report voltage on that chip.
                                        also in the near resistor.

also normal and while shorting the 2 spot i mentioned before (3.45 and gnd)

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                          Assuming...

                                          Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                                          Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Hi, I have a MacBook pro A1278 (820-3115-B) that has green light on the charger and does not turn on, the fan does not spin.
The voltages in the SMC seem correct. I have made voltages measurements on the main coils and I put their measurements here:
                                          L7220..........3.3V
                                          L7260...........5.12V
                                          L7330..........1.5V
                                          L7030..........12.67V
                                          L3895..........2.5V
                                          L7760..........1.80V
                                          L9701..........0V

In the following coils they give me continuity with ground, which seems strange to me:

                                          L7550,L7510,L7520........ 0V
                                          ...
