Replacing SOC SRK08 clean me needed?

Hello, so I replaced a soc SRK08 (i3-1115G4) on a hp 14-dq because the 1.8v power supply was shorted and the pch was gone and I installed a SRK05 (i5-1135G7) that I had at hand. And I was wondering if a clean me region is needed after replacing the chip, I usually do this on laptops with separated pch, but with a soc (cpu and pch together) I have no idea. Normally I wouldn't ask this, but I have only the motherboard, no screen nor the adapter, and after I fix this I have to send it to another region so if someone knows about this, some help would be apreciated.

Note: After doing all mentioned above and having no shorts and all the measurments normal I tried to trick the adp_id (using a 100 ohm resistor between the id pin and 19v) and turn it on, but got nothing, no 5v, no 3v, the 3v ldo is 4.8v for some reason, so probably I need the adapter and wouldn't be able to test it properly (I don't know the exact value of the resistor either), so if someone has done this before and can share his experience it would be great.

On HP use a 470K resistor from 19V to AD_ID for 45W adapter
390K for 65W; 100R is too low, there's a protection circuit that hopefully saved the EC (if you got 4.8V on 3.3V LDO then maybe EC got fried)

I usually do this on laptops with separated pch, but with a soc (cpu and pch together)

For the BIOS, yes, needs clean ME, it's just CPU and PCH glued in the same package; if you extract the update from HP website you get a clean ME BIOS, you have to transfer DMI and Win key to the new BIOS
If possible match BIOS version to the original on the board, search for $BVDT , that indicates BIOS version; $BID Board ID

Where did the other cpu come from? Read about intel bootguard - the cpu is usually locked at first boot to a manufacturer/platform and you can not use it on another mainboard.

Yeah I've heard about that and as far as I know only msi does that, I have replaced and bought a few used pch from China and had no issues so far, mainly SRKMA and SRJAU (separated ones, no soc).

If you have the acer mainboard at hand, read the bios and check if the bootguard was enabled. Most newer cpu-s have it enabled.

Before I replace the SOC, I lifted the 1.8v and 3.3v coils because they were shorted then I got 3.3v on the ldo and 5v_alw on the coil after plugging the power supply, this is why I did the replacement, after I soldered the chip the 5v_alw was gone and the 3.3v ldo got weird.

Alright, so I used a 470k resistor and now I got stable 3.3v on the ldo, but no 5v_alw, it tries but the ec pull down the EN2 on this power supply, my guess is that it needs the screen or something else, with the bios I did a clean me using a me region extracted from a bios that I got on bios archive telegram, because the ones from hp were a mess (got 13, 11, 10 version) the me region on my bios was 15.00, so in the end used FIT to do the job and that was okay I guess. So I will send this motherboard as it is now, I hope it turns on with everything plugged, I've worked too much on this already (it was a favour)

Don't think you need the screen to get the board to turn on, but at least the charge port and maybe the board with the power button/lid sensor and USB port (and of course 1 RAM stick)
Also it won't turn on If it doesn't detect the charger properly

Best to get whole laptop for testing

Yeah I don't have the little pcb with the power button and the lid sensor, just tried to short'em all on the connector, and got one little pulse, but nothing else. Man I just hate this kind of laptops, always a nightmare.

What is the motherboard model number of the acer swift 3, did you check it`s bios for boot guard ?

I don't have the motherboard rn, but checking a picture it says GH4UT LA-L151P REV 2.0
I haven't had any issue doing these kind of repair so far, although this is my first time doing these socs*

I looked at a few bios with that same motherboard https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...e2#post3749197 and they do not have bootguard
I looked at a few 14-dq bios versions as well from a few different threads and they do have bootguard. Check your bios with FIT ,if it has bootguard it must be disabled ,set it to 0 and rebuild the bios.

UPDATE*
Hey you were right, in the end a 470k resistor did the trick and I had an issue with the 1.8v power supply asswell (not only the high side mosfet shorted previously), had the drain and gate shorted from the controller, replaced that so now the board turned on.
