Update, I reflowed the chip and now the caps are staying consistent with their respected readings...doing a little more digging.

Plugged the battery in stuck at 20 volts 0.00amps still getting no charge via USB C. But did discover that USB C CD3217B12 chip was acting weird, reflowed brought it back to life it looks like... PPBUS_AON drops to 11.3 volts.

PPCHGR_VDDA = Voltage dropping. went down from 5volts down to 1 volt and still dropping.
        PPCHGR_VDDP = 5volts and dropping..
PPVBAT_AON_CHGR_REG =1.5volts and not dropping any further
        ISL is not being powered.

Ignore - late reply to the above.

          Ok - nice!

But 0A means still something wrong in the power path.

Yes, turns on, but won't charge. ISL9240 allows the computer to turn on, also this is a brand new chip on the board so it turned on without issue once it was replaced...charging issue still being a punk.

I have a question, would the 5Volt Regulator chip have anything to do with the charging issue? I am talking about UF800 (this chip was liquid damaged with corrosion but didn't seem like it was bad since the corrosion came off without an issue and all the caps and resistors look good.

What is the voltage to ground you are measuring on LF800? (PP5V_S2SW_USBC01) Should be ~5v2.

I did noticed that CHGR_AUX_DET_3v3 is not showing any voltage at Q5216. Is this normal?

This implies that PPBUS_AON = 0v. Is this correct? PPBUS_AON was not 0v at the start.

PPBUS_AON is at 12volts exactly while plugged in but those areas have 0 volts present when PPBUS_AON is at 12 volts. I am missing .30 volts which indicates some issue present. I know once I hit that 12.30+ volts I repaired it. But I checked all the resistors and they checked out working and their resistance was in normal standing. I replaced one bad resistor in question but that didn't solve it. So I am still stuck in limbo. I am certain once we figure it out this will solve this problem for all future repairs. Could use this as a reference as well.

Remove all power. Meter in resistance mode. Measure the resistance across RD761.

This may be just the inaccuracy of your meter but you can always replace it to test. However, note that the voltage should not drop to 0v across this resistor.

Confirm if you have a voltage on the other side of this resistor. Perhaps turns off due to the larger resistance at this junction.

                                            Hi all,

i got a Macbook A2442 which statrts normal but is not showing any picture. Using an external monitor works fine. After opening the Macbook i found a dried up line of liquid damage around CN979, RD503, and UP730. I cleaned up everything and also unsoldered the chips to clean the pads. There were no shorts before but i still don't have any picture. Sometimes you can see a glimpse of light in the middle of the display.
So before i change the whole display i want to make sure that it's not any issue with the logicboard. So any ideas what i can check next?...

                                            Hi All,

I'm working on a MacBook Pro A2442 (14", 2021) that's not powering on. On two out of three USB-C ports, I get 5V and the current briefly ramps up to around 0.210A before dropping to 0.036A. On the third port (JF600), I only get 0.0045A and it stays there.

Initially, I suspected a faulty CD3217 on that port, especially since I noticed signs of previous liquid damage near the JF600 USB connector. I replaced the CD3217 with an UF400 (from an A2442 donor board from the same location). According to the supplier, this should be a compatible version, but the behavior...

I have a Macbook Pro A2442 with the 820-02098 from a friend which has no picture on the display, however, the backlight works.
He was streaming a football match on a questionable site, then the site crashed, and the problem emerged.
Initially, he sent it to apple, who quoted him £1323.95 to replace the display, lid angle sensor and top case.
Obviously, he decided against this and gave it to me so that I could have a crack at it.
From initial diagnostics, I connected to an external monitor, I first tried with a HP 22W monitor, and I booted into the boot menu...

                                            Hi all,
I have a MacBook Pro A2442 with board 820-02098-A very highly oxydated (water) by an accident.
The customer just need to recover the data (no backups, heh), so we cleaned fully to make it power on.
Fortunately the Mac is still alive but it shows an exclamation mark in a circle (!) (Apple T2 fw issue?) with the text "support.apple.com/mac/restore" and doesn't go further.

We tried to interface with another Mac, but can't get in DFU. Very likely the keyboard is gone too because the water, so we're planning to buy a cheap compatible one just to....

                                            Hi All
I have MacBook A2442 which had keyboard replaced and now it doesn't turn on correctly, it have sound chime from time to time and Apple logo shows on the display and there is no backlight on, apple logo appear and stuck on kind of boot loop. But if one of the display flexes is disconnected from the motherboard then MacBook turns of fine with the external monitor and it keeps working fine.
Without keyboard its still have same issue, I don't have second display to replace it and compare but does display can make issues with boot?
