I have a MacBook Air that was completely dead on arrival. During inspection I found a shorted capacitor near the SMC, which appeared to be the main fault. After replacing the capacitor, the short on the rail was cleared. The board then started recognizing the charger, charging normally, and the machine powered on. Initial testing outside the chassis showed normal behaviour.
However, after full reassembly a new issue appeared. There is no boot chime and no image on the screen, only the fan spins. The power button responds normally, it powers on without the charger connected...

Date was correct, I've checked it on the beginning, there was no error number during the installation from USB, but I was keep trying to install High Sierra osx about 10 times or maybe more and suddenly installed it successfully. Then I've updated it easily to Big Sure and is working fine. Have no idea what was wrong but its sorted -
Macbook A1534 problem with MacOs installation
I have Macbook A1534 which had Windows 10 installed on it, now customer want to have macos back because windows is slow.
From disk utility I deleted all partitions ( there was boot camp and macintosh ), created GUID Partition Map / APFS and I'm trying to install High Sierra from USB and its failing in half way, if I use Internet Recovery I have error apple.com/support -5101F, its shows me the option to go under support and mentions that battery have to be replaced.
Because the battery I can't install the MacOs or it something else? any suggestions please?... -

Chromebook received as not charging, battery 0v.
Motherboard C223NA
PS8751B was faulty so replaced but still not charging.
RT6258BGQUF (PL8704) getting hot, on 5th pin there is 8.8V but shouldn't be 3v or 5v?, that going on line PPVAR_SYS from T650944 (PU8001) so does it mean T650944 is faulty or could be other reason of that high voltage?

Thank you for your help, issue has been sorted, flex of the connector JR900 was lifted little bit in the part where its ends under the speaker so I had just to align it back to his please and its started working fine.

Apple Macbook Pro A2338 EMC8162 lid sensor doesn't work
I have an Macbook Pro A2338 after small liquid damage, all working fine but keyboard was sticky so I have replaced palmrest for genuine second hand and now lid sensor doesn't recognize when I'm closing the lid. Display is always on, can't find sensor for that model, can someone explain my how does it work, where that flex is if there is any.
Maybe that the motherboard issue, not sure where to start.

It is liquid damage and I found that there is a shortage on the mosfet PQ5407, component on it has marking 4513NH CXB8X, SM4513NH CXB8X its only available on the Ali, is there any replacement on mouser? don't see data sheet.

I have Dell Latitude E7450 on my desk, doesn't power on, after plugin in the charger, light on the charger comes off.
I found shortage and dead cap, without it laptop does turn on. But I cannot find value of that cap, just don't see it.

Please help, maybe I'm just blind, I just have schematics not board view. Marked cap has been removed and laptop its turning on.

I have 1v2 and I have 1v8 as well, with and without flexes connected.
RD296 and RD297 have 1v8 on both ends, RD295 AND RD294 have 1v2 on both ends.Leave a comment:

with flex is:

Macbook A2442 820-02098 boot and display issue
Hi All
I have MacBook A2442 which had keyboard replaced and now it doesn't turn on correctly, it have sound chime from time to time and Apple logo shows on the display and there is no backlight on, apple logo appear and stuck on kind of boot loop. But if one of the display flexes is disconnected from the motherboard then MacBook turns of fine with the external monitor and it keeps working fine.
Without keyboard its still have same issue, I don't have second display to replace it and compare but does display can make issues with boot?

No no, missing cap is marked with green circle, on the photo is still there but I removed it after. The voltage on that rail is 20v while charger connected.

I've got an Asus laptop which received with no power, so I found that one capacitor been damaged. I don't have schematics for that board which is DANJMMB11A0 REV:A
Without that caps laptop is turning on fine so problem more likely is sorted but I would like to put back the correct one as it should be.
If any way could help with sorting out specification somehow, I just know that my meter shows 11,2uF but is it 50V or 10V ?? or any others.
See attached photo off the capacitor, maybe someone have same motherboard and can check it for me please.

Can I have help with unlocking my bios please, when I'm using RCunlocker, laptop doesn't turn on at all, can't get into recovery. Laptop model is Lenovo 100E Chromebook 2nd gen BM5866 V1.4.
Is it possible that the laptop will not work with any other BIOS just with original?
Another strange thing is that I've power wash it and laptop doesn't have chromeOS anymore now and even I can't install new by using recovery....
