    A2338 battery don't charge

model: A2338, I got a problem with battery don't charge, the BGATE(B3) of U5200 is 12V with battery or without battery. I don't know why, have someone provide the idea to solve it? thank you

After change a new battery, the don't charge problem is solved. I guess the original battery may be lock due to some reason, even I charge the cell by power supply directly
and the cell voltage already up to 11.8V.

Measure the voltage to ground of each pin on the battery connector @ J5151.

      Post the measurements.

          J5151:
          pin 2 & 3 is 3.259V
          pin 7 is 0V

any problem for this voltage measured result? thank you

I will try it later when I get another component and fix it on connector.

J5151 voltage check is ok for the SMBUS lines. They are not shorted.

Remove all power. Meter in resistance mode. Check the battery mosfet @ Q5265.

                Measure the resistance across:

source (1-2-3) & drain (5-6-7-8) ; select any pin from each group
                source (1-2-3) & gate (4)
                gate (4) & drain (5-6-7-8)

Post each measurement. Checking for a low resistance which usually means the mosfet is defective.

                  The D to S: 1.619M ohm
                  G to S: 3.7M ohm
                  G to D: 4.97M ohm

                  thank you
