some bios have option to enable/disable this feature. and also you can try using hard disk sentinel which you can modify attributes.

You can't really remove a SMART error from an HDD. SMART is supposed to give you a heads up about imminent HDD failure.

Whenever a HDD gives you a SMART errors the first step is always to image the HDD or back it up manually if you are not familiar with imaging. Once that's done I normally either send it out for warranty replacement if applicable or use it for none critical data until it kicks the bucket.

        Yes:

        1) buy new hdd.
        2) clone old hdd to new.
        3) throw away old hdd.

        Ta-Da, smart error removed!

          http://forum.hddguru.com/viewtopic.php?t=11040&start

rest of them need special card calld pc3000

          enter this
          CRTL+Z
          F3 2>U
          Spin Up Complete
          Elapsed Time 7.242 secs
          F3 2>

          F3 T>/1
          F3 1>N1
          this is a S.M.A.R.T. erase

after that POWER off HDD, it means that you plug off power to hdd,
          power on hdd,
          reenter
          CTRL+Z on terminal
          F3 T>i4,1,22
          this is G-list erase

after that POWER off HDD, it means that you plug off power to hdd,

Surely won't the error just return? What error is it?
