    MacBook Air 2179 no sound

after replacing the T2 chip there is no sound on the built-in speakers! When connected via bluetooth or via a 3.5 mm jack, there is sound. the system sees the inside of the speakers but there is no sound! what could it be? what to pay attention to?

Review the headphone connector on the audio board. Use compressed air to blow out any gremlins.

The audio board may need to be replaced for the same reason.

The problem is not in the connector or in the sound board because I install another motherboard and there is sound! I also installed a 3.5mm jack card from another laptop and there is no sound.

Check diode value of R5300, R5301, R5305, R5306. Maybe the contact between T2 chip and the pad is not good.

the voltage across these resistors is 1.8 volts, in diode mode 0.365
I remind you that the sound is output via bluetooth and through a 3.5mm jack, there is no sound only from the built-in speakers

check if the connector on motherboard where you connect audio board is ok. I have this issue on other macbook connector where audio board flex was connecting wasn't making good contact on one side (with naked eye it wasn't visible but under microscope it was clear that the issue is there) and therefore i was able to see speakers, increase / decrease audio, audio via headphone jack was working but internal speakers where not outputting any sound.

if the sound works through the 3.5mm connector, then T2 initializes the sound to the board and the problem is not in T2!? I’m thinking correctly since I’ve already transplanted T2 2 times, it didn’t help either and there weren’t any unsoldered nickels

so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

                  Hello all,

I have a weird issue to solve here. This macbook air came in showing a black screen even though the backlight was lit. The display was not the issue as I tried another known good display. Upon trying to restart it, sometimes it boots up but freezes at the login page. More commonly however, the macbook will give the chime sound but then get stuck repeating the sound. The first chime sound is normal but the subsequent chimes sounds are crackly. Voltages seem normal, no liquid damage. I did find a blotch of something near one of the crystals on the other side of the CPU...

                  Apple MacBook A1707 No Audio/Sound
                  by tommy97
                  Hi,

I'm having an issue with an A1707 MacBook Pro—there's no audio output. Initially, the MacBook came in with a no-power problem, and I found a faulty U6400, which I've now replaced. The laptop now powers on, but there's still no sound.

I've also replaced U6300, but the problem persists.

Here are the current voltage readings:
                  • PPV18_S0: 1.8V
                  • R6402: 1V
                  • R6405: 1V
                  • R6403: 1V
                  • AUD_SPKRAMP_RESET_L: 1.3V
                  • PPBUS: 12.6V

I got this MacBook after liquid damage, clean up the board replaced side I/O audio board with flex as it was liquid damaged I am getting now sound on headphones but no sound on speakers still. Machine is recognising speakers as there is a volume bar available.
Anyone had issue like this before ?
