I flashed both BIOS & EC chips and I got the following readings (check attachment).

I got 0V, what do you think I should test next?Comment

check PL11 and PL1
here is schematic (page 25)...the quieter you become the more you are able to hear...Comment

Re: DA0AX1MB6H1 (HP G62-358CA) - Does not turn on & Adapter Led light off when plugge
Hello, this board is Rev H, in the schematic you linked me to, the DC CN is 16, the board I'm working with is CN17.
The reading of PU6 (ISL6251A, it's only 24 pins) are:
1: 5V
3: 1.18V
4: 4.5V
6: 0V
7: 0V
14: 0V
19: 0V
27: does not exist
While testing PU6, parts around were getting hot, should I keep testing it and trace the touch?
I can't find PL11 and PL1, but I think they are the inductors I tested previously. Any ideas guys?Last edited by orientalsniper; 01-19-2014, 11:52 AM.Comment

Re: DA0AX1MB6H1 (HP G62-358CA) - Does not turn on & Adapter Led light off when plugge
Is it normal I'm getting 28V in a capacitor (PC69)? Close to PU2 which is a G5933, not a RT8209A, according to the old revision schematic.
Every other resistor and capacitor voltages close to PU2 are jumping.
EDIT: After replugging DC cord, PC69 still gets 28V, and the rest close to PU2 are reading steady 19V, no longer jumping.Last edited by orientalsniper; 01-19-2014, 11:25 AM.Comment

Re: DA0AX1MB6H1 (HP G62-358CA) - Does not turn on & Adapter Led light off when plugge
I am refering to RT8206B. The 28v you mentioned is normal. If you have 28v at the gate pin of the mosfet, then you should have around 19v at PWRSRC.Comment

I have a lot of this boards with similar issues, some of them even have 3.3v and 5v but still wont turn on and no power led too, I am still looking for solution..Comment

Re: DA0AX1MB6H1 (HP G62-358CA) - Does not turn on & Adapter Led light off when plugge
Hello guy, thanks for the assistance, I don't have any readings (0V) in RT8206B or the pins connectors in the battery terminal.
Edit: Also, bluestone, you should try reflashing BIOS and EC, some people reported they got it working.Comment

If you dont get any voltages at RT8206B, then focus your attention to ISL6251A pin 1, 2, 3, 8, 15, 24.Last edited by whaldsz; 01-20-2014, 06:27 PM.Comment

You will know that the ec bios chip/sio chip is working if you get 3.3v at rsmrst#. If you dont have, flashing the bios is one of the possible solution. To do this, you need a spi programmer.Comment

Re: DA0AX1MB6H1 (HP G62-358CA) - Does not turn on & Adapter Led light off when plugge
2: Jumping up to 0.5V
3: Jumping up to 1V
8: 2.3V
15: 5V
24:Jumping up to 18V
Can you please tell me how do you know which pins to test?Last edited by orientalsniper; 01-21-2014, 09:28 AM.Comment

Hello, thanks for swift reply! How can I find this capacitor?
Capacitance test must be infinite?Comment

Hello Everyone!
I have an Acer Aspire A315-42 laptop. I generally leave it on for long time by closing down its lid (so it enters the sleep mode). Recently, it rained quite heavily in out area. And the humidity and moisture seem to be high. So one late evening, after I opened the lid and turned on the laptop, it did power on as the blue light turned on but after it booted to the desktop screen, just 5-10 seconds after both the screen and blue light went out and laptop shut down (the blue power light turned orange). And after 2-4 seconds that orange light went off and the laptop died....06-28-2025, 02:57 PM -
Hey! how are you guys? i wonder if you could help me with this macbook 820-2936 that does not turn on. (Doesn't have green/orange light).
History:
this macbook came for a short on C6990 that blows D6990 and R6990 on his way. i re-placed the componets and it work again.
A month later comes back again and has the actual problem (no green/orange light and dont turn on)
The macbook can turn on with only the battery connected but in fact, dosent charge.
Voltajes:
PP3V42_G3H = 3.3v
PPBUS_G3H = 12.2V

by popzeggeyHello, I have the similar problem. My Dell Precision 7520 doesn't turn on with only battery. Below are the various scenarios and its symptoms
1. With only battery, the laptop turns on but no display and shuts down after few seconds
2. With battery and charger plugged in, the battery light comes on. But pressing the power button does nothing and laptop refuses to turn on. However, the battery led light blinks every 17seconds from when the charger is plugged in with or without battery. So whether the battery is inserted or not, the battery led light will turn when charger...06-07-2024, 09:23 PM -
by dionzarekHello everyone, I am new to this PS5 troubleshooting, I need help on diagnosing the problem. My PS5 Slim board EDM-040 that beep and only shows blue light then immediately turn off.
I've checked the PSU its normal 12V. I've checked all the capacitors its all good no shorts, but there are 2 caps shorted, I think its near the SSD. You can look at the image attachment.
When tested it only shows 0.003 while other caps show 0.4 to 1. WHen in continuity mode those 2 caps goes beep/shorted.
Any help to where should I check on or suggestion would be very appreciated....02-08-2025, 11:00 PM -
