PU601 could be faulty. Start by testing the inductors (PL602, PL601) for shorts including the LDO outputs (pin 3 and 13). It's also possible that any of the load connected the these output is faulty (or shorted).Leave a comment:

Remove the coil at +3VALWP and check which side is shorted. It is possible that the 240 ohms resistance you get is from the IC Regulator, or any of the capacitors along that rail....Leave a comment:

Check again if your wire is heating up. Shorten your wire if possible. Inspect using microscope if you have, could be a shorted large cap or the PCH is busted. You might need to leave it for 5-15 min and get back to it to check which area is warming up.Leave a comment:

You should observe a warming up of component at least, unless the short is below 1 ohms. Also replace the wire you use for injecting 3.3v. You need a larger diameter wire or else, nothing will heat up.Leave a comment:

This is a common problem with this laptop, I have 2 boards (same board code as you) with this same problem. I'm guessing CPU replacement will fix the problem.

Have you checked if backlight is enabled? if so, try these:
Try to press the VGA chip while powering on and observe if current consumption increased or led screen will have display.
You may also try to reflow (as a temporary fix) to confirm that vga chip needs a reball or replacement.Leave a comment:
