This macbook died and after checking i found out there is small crack in U7700 (also after thermal camera check right in that place where U7700 is cracked it's getting hot) my question is if it's possible to replace U7700 with another one from donor board or it's paired with CPU or board ...Comment

Personally have not come across this case. The schematics show that U7700 is part # 998-22526. No hits on any website nor Aliexpress. Perhaps a larger concern is what is the reason for this PMIC to get nuked. Respectively, very likely that downstream leg of the circuit is also killed. This may be a no fix case.Comment

Yes i've also not able to find any info about this IC. I've replaced it anyway and macbook is now starting and i'm getting error that i need to restore.
I've tried Revive, restore, via apple configurator 2 but problem is that i don't have other macbook with latest MacOS only one older one a1706 and there revive, restore is not finished and i don't know if because it's not newest macos or why

ok so according Camera, touch bar and ALS not working ... i found that it's not motherboard related (most probably) as i put in this case know working M1 macbook pro (a2338) and there is exactly same issue (camera not detected, ALS not working, touch bar working but lights up after some time) it looks like these issues are related all together with something bad in display unit (probably will need new displayComment

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-

by som_b1Hello. I encountered such a problem - the MacBook screen lights up but does not display an image. Almost like a flexjgate in reverse). Maybe someone has encountered such a breakdown. The problem is in the cables or maybe in the t-con?11-05-2025, 12:20 PM

by reformattJust had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".
It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...07-31-2025, 08:37 PM -
by Ado02Hi,
I am working on a MacBook that came in for a screen replacement. The MacBook powers on and works on the external screen. However, the screen stays black. The replacement screen made no difference. On further investigation, I found small amounts of corrosion.
Please see the attached image.
I ordered a refurbished logicboard, but the problem didn't go away with the old or replacement screen.
Can anyone suggest where to go from here?... -
by ledbylightHi all!
This is my first post and also one of my first "deep dives" into electronic repair. I'm used to doing basic tasks with computers, like SSD/CPU replacement, thermal past re-application, etc. So here's the story...
I have a MacBook Air M1 that I bought to repair (I know, I'm weird; though I'm a CompSci major and want to learn more
, and it will not display anything on the internal display. I have verified that there's no backlight, as I booted the laptop and shined a flashlight on it and there's no display; it does completely boot up, and shows fine on an external...
