MacBook Pro A2159 - No Display / Works on External Screen

    Hi,

I am working on a MacBook that came in for a screen replacement. The MacBook powers on and works on the external screen. However, the screen stays black. The replacement screen made no difference. On further investigation, I found small amounts of corrosion.

    Please see the attached image.

I ordered a refurbished logicboard, but the problem didn't go away with the old or replacement screen.

Can anyone suggest where to go from here?

Start with IPA onto this device & cotton swab / Q-tips to remove the corrosion. Allow it to dry. Test again.

      If still no go..

Apply flux onto this corroded part -> low air pressure but high heat. Allow the solder to melt and use tweezers to gently nudge the component that should bounce away and reset back onto the PCB pads.
