Re: Dell 5010
This is kinda rude .
Did you at least took out the motherboard out, made some basic checking visual for some burned components, maybe overheating.
With a dmm you can check some MOSFETs near the power jack .
Basic stuff you need to do first .
You just ask for solution .do you think that whe know what's inside your notebook until you open it.
Open so we can know what's inside and TRY to help.
Good luck and a good day to you sirJust cook it! It's already broken. -
Re: Dell 5010
I think most dell laptops have got this same issue and it is always the Adapter, If you put on the laptop you get a message like "Alert' Ac adapter cannot be determine" then your laptop can't charge, you should try and find the correct adapter for your laptop.Comment

by Akhlz001Hi,
Could someone help trying to unlock this BIOS, seems that Dell have changed the layout of new Dell Pro 8FC8 bioses from checking HXD - 4000 bits do not need changing, only 2000. However after FF the section starting from '01000' upto 2000 bits and then soldering the chip back it seems that the microchip on the motherboard is recovering the bios back to original settings after first boot. Has anyone found a way to crack this extra layer of security Dell have implemented? Seems both HP and Dell have upped bios security to match Lenovo by implementing extra measures on a separate...-

by master3112I would like to share my experience about charging issues with Dell power supplies with the tech community. I am working on a Dell Inspiron 5590, Mainboard 18778-1 with charging problems. The device can be switched on and works so far, only the message appears at startup:
Alert! The AC power adapter wattage and Type cannot be determined. The battery may not change. The System will adjust the performace to match the power available.
The power supply unit is not recognized in the Bios and the charging process is set to "idle". I use original Dell battery, type...-

by jake-bgood morning all,
i purchased a used dell e6540 laptop used 10 months ago from a vendor on ebay. intel i-7 processor, 16 gb ddr3 memory, 256 gb ssd., mobo la-9413p (rev 1.0 dated 2014-08-04). i've inflicted no damage on it since purchase but its past is unknown. starting 2 weeks ago it began to fail to boot (initially 9 of 10 boot attempts failed, now 10 of 10 fail). there was no new hardware or software added (i was using as a kodi video server). the post process doesn't complete and booting no longer displays the dell logo screen - screen remains black with no backlight. some other... - Loading...
