Sorry just been dicharged from hospital (great start to new year). Anyone was anyone able to look at the pictures and identify the jumpers it.vendor is on about? Looks like I will have to fork out for a replacement laptop
Just an update, I purchased a new LCD just to make sure it wasn't that. Unfortunately the new LCD shows no back light either. Definitely a problem on the motherboard I guess. Looks like I will have to fork out for a replacement laptop this time .
If you have CCFL displays you have to be sure that you lamp is OK and your inverter is working.
On LED display, such as on K53, you need the schematics to find out which pin is LCD power supply, which is backlight power in which is stand by pin for the backlight, and make sure that you have all the voltages. If not follow the line backwards and measure to see where is the faulty device.
Thanks for the reply Lord. I am unable to locate any schematics anywhere. A few others have tried to find them also to no avail. Have you ever worked on this mobo and maybe remember which pin is which? Thank you.
Thanks for the input Lord. Will try and give it a search for the schematics. Since I am looking at replacing the laptop I might just super toast it with a reflow gun.
The LCD is ok I ordered a replacement to double check and it also had the same problem. Any chance the LCD cable can be causing this? My multimeter has gone caput at the moment and have ordered a new one. Will test the pins when it is here .
