Acer 4530 - powers on then shuts off 2 seconds later

Acer aspire 4530 - powers on then shuts off 2 seconds later.

This seems to be a fairly common problem among many manufacturer's laptops described on the web.

Anyone know the cause / fix?

Does it get to POST first? If it doesn't get to POST it sounds like it may be a power supply issue.

Nope - no post. no bios writing. tried three different external adapters - all good. no difference.
Nature of the problem: Press power button.. blue LEDS do their 'go around thing' for about 1.5 seconds ... fan makes brief blowing noise .. no bios writing on screen ... unit shuts off. charging of battery & charging LED seem to function correctly. changed CPU. changed memory. disconnected all device loads - that is: hard drive, CD rom, modem, wifi, etc. DC jack seems good. same problem regardless of whether screen is connected. reapplied silver thermal paste on cpu. graphics chip heat transfer pad seems fine. same behavior regardless of battery connected or not. no obvious shorts in USB connectors or otherwise. 5V & 3.3V stand-by appear to be there. ...

the consensus out there seems to be Nvidia video chip requiring reflow or reball.

          everybody agree?

mine was acer travelmate 5320, similar symptoms, lots of lappys out there with similar symptoms, and no fixes or help
your lappy like mine is NOT known to require reflow, like some lappys DO
mine turned out to be CPU
I was about to replace the bios chip before cpu
reflow seems drastic at this stage (they dont seem to last anyway)

                hi
for acer 4530 prob is around the nvidia chip
                reflow or reball is recommended
its actually coprocessor not only vga
u can just heat the chip for some time and check
                regards

first check with the another cpu... if problem is steel there then you will need to replace nvidia mcp77 bga chip

                      Regards

Dell laptop powers up with kb backlight about 10 seconds, then shuts off

I've got a Dell Latitude 5580 which came in for no power. It's not exactly a no power issue though. The battery was puffy so I replaced that, but the symptom is that when the power button is depressed, the keyboard backlights will come on for about 10 seconds then go back off. Before depressing power button, I am drawing 112ma and oddly, there is no change in current draw once the button is pressed and the keyboard backlights illuminate.

                          Any ideas?

I have a really weird problem, this motherboard was working normally, someday it just started and all fans were running but didn't want to post, tried resetting bios, checking CPU and it was getting warm tried external gpu, flashed bios with programmer, but same problem.
Next day after several attempts the board goes into protection mode, no more staying on, I turn on the PSU fans starts directly turning, it used to not start until I press the pwr button, now it starts directly and fans spins, and shuts off after 3 seconds sometimes less, then won't start again unless I unplug the PSU and...

Sony LED 65X9005A shuts down after few seconds - looking for help

Hi community! Germany calling I am wondering if you guys can help me out. I have an issue with my Sony LED TV. I've been told this is a good place to ask. Thanks for anyone who will reply and offer advice. Appreciated!

I have a KD-65X9005A Sony 4k LED TV. For a few weeks I've got this problem where I turn on the TV and within a few seconds the TV starts getting darker until it shuts itself off and I get the 4 blinking error code. HOWEVER there is one exception: Whenever I switch to the i-Manual, a full screen on-screen instruction manual, the TV never turns off. I tested for hours!...

Help with Dell Latitude E5470 that shuts down when moved at all. Powers up, but no charge, power jack has brown burn marks
                          by lowpost99@gmail.com
I have a Dell E5470 that powers up and boots windows no problem. Using a non-standard universal type charger, it shuts down immediately if moved, (power short in that charger or AC power jack) because the battery has no charge and isn't charging orange/white lights blinking on the front. When first powered up, BIOS power alarm stated that it could not detect the voltage setting and I had to dis-able the message to get past this. It got into Windows fine, as long as not moved, so I dis-assembled it looking for a cold solder joint on the power jack that I thought might be lifting off the MB, but...

                          Hello together,

I am hoping for some tips here to repair a notebook.

                          The notebook has following issue:
After starting the notebook it shut down after a few seconds.
Sometimes it is possible to enter the bios but then after, another few seconds it shuts down also.
The time until shutdown varies slightly.

                          What I've tried so far:
                          - cmos cleared
                          - removed all components that are not essential for motherboard testing including keyboard and touchpad
                          - ram exchanged
                          - same behaviour with power supply or battery...
