    a1932 820-01521 - SSD issues

    Hi all,

I got an a1932 13" Air with SSD issues.

It was booting to logon screen without issues but reboots after some seconds. It also reboots just before recovery mode is fully loaded, so no recovery access was possible.

    Board looks clean.

I tried DFU revive, SMC and PRAM reset with no success. So I finally did DFU restore. Accessing recovery is now possible, also deleting SSD was possible with no errors ( but took longer than normal ). But right after starting MacOS install, it reboots again.

I´ld like to avoid replacing the NAND chips if possible, so is there anything else I can check before replacing NAND?

if you can boot off USB then do some low level testing first - start with memtest

CPU and T2 faults are much more common on this model than standalone SSD/nand faults. Still possible, but if the board boots fine and you can wipe the SSD and DFU-Restore fine, then odds are SSD/nands are actually OK.

Issue more likely related to CPU/PCH. This assumes you've confirmed no damage to the board, and no prior repairs or liquid-exposure.

Boot from USB is blocked by security settings and I´m not able to change it in recovery mode (no admin account found, which is necessary. And not able to install new account because of reboot issue..). So I guess this is no option here

Board looks like new, just like the whole Macbook. So no liquid or drop damage. Any way to measure/confirm a CPU/PCH related issue?

A2141 (2019 16" MB Pro) Strange macOS install issues. NAND? WIFI? FIRMWARE?
            by duwane
            Hi All.

Sorry ahead of time for the text wall. This is a strange problem and I have tried to explain it as best I can. I realise this is a hardware forum (mostly), but I am still not sure if this is even a hardware fault! I am hoping that someone more knowledgeable than me in the area of understanding installation logs, or someone that has had a similar issue in the past may have some ideas of what might be causing this.

            The issue:
Unable to do a clean install of any macOS versions supported for this model, even after fully erasing and formatting the internal SSD,...

PS5 EDM-031 - Pulsing BLOD - SSD NAND chips never heat up
            by mattpd
PS5 died in the middle of a game and never would boot again. Pulsing BLOD stays on forever but never boots.

No LM damage. UART gives a generic "APU not responding" error.

Under thermal camera, the SSD NAND chips stay stone cold. The controller warms, but not the NAND. I have a good 2.5v and 1.8v around the NANDs...

I don't have a ton of PS5 experience, but I assume that the NAND would need to warm at least a little bit in order to boot...

So to those with experience, would you expect at least a little heat from the NAND during...

MSI Z370-A Pro, works but does not power off or reboot and USB issues
            by gretti
I have a MSI Z370-A Pro. The board does not reboot or shut down from the Windows recovery console. USB communications stop and the status light on USB 1 stays on and does not blink. I have programmed a new BIOS with a CH341A programmer already, swapped RAM, PSU, CPU. The board will power off when the power button is held and resets when the reset switch is pressed, but it will not react to the reset switch if already told by software to shut down or restart. The board will reboot from BIOS after a save and exit command.

The MSI BIOS included the ME firmware for the board. The size...
