Asus Rog gaming laptop no display ? Bios? dead cmos batt?

Hello guys, can a dead cmos batt cause no boot? Or currupt bios ?

have a rog 501 i believe, lights come on.. Sata drive spins.. Ssd drive gets warm but no display .. cpu/gpu are cold as if theyre not turning on?

Board is a GM501GS

Yes bad bios battery can cause no post it depend from architecture off the board.

I noticed a mosfet source and gate gets shorted
aright after i install a new ine and plug in power? is that normal?

maybe the issue lies here why the laptop doesnt boot fully..

tried bios bin file on flash drive and ctr R and nothing comes up..

Im almlst there hopefully with your expertise i can getbit to work..

ok tried new bios batt same thing


there are some mosfets i think on the main 20v ppwer rail, that are measuring 1 ohm between source and gate , switch leads and same thing.. Removed mosfet and still same values on board.. so something on that line is causing that..
