Hi, ill try to keep this short. I got my hands on a PS4 with a mangled HDMI port and assumed that it would be an easy fix. before the replacement it booted up fine (white light) however after replacing the port it booted up fine for 2 times and then after plugging in an HDMI cable and turning on the console to check whether it had video out it never booted again, even after unplugging the cable. now it gets stuck on the blue flashing light and after 25-40 seconds it pops out the disk (if one is inserted) and shuts itself off. Upon investigating i found that the capacitors near the HDMI port are all shorted and so are the ones close to the APU (although the ones close to the APU might always read this way not sure) all the data pins and power pins on the new HDMI port seem to also be shorted to GND, visually they do not look shorted however im new to SMD soldering. I definately heated the board for way too long to remove the old port as the Pcb got somewhat charred (maybe this killed the HDMI encoder and shorted everything?) i fail to understand how the PS4 has gotten the BLOD as a short would usually result in the ps4 turning off almost instantly not 25-40 seconds.
Any ideas or help would be incredibly appreciated. Thank you
