    Speed controller for golf trolley

    Hi guys,
Strange one here. I have a few speed controllers off some electric golf trolleys. They are not working and usually give trouble. New ones are about 80 euro so I said I might give it a go to see about fixing em. I will upload photos later.
Any help will be much appreciated

      Hi,
They are 12v. These are walk behind trolleys.

btw, it looks like shit - i'll explain.

the center wheel is too narrow to put any weight on it on grass - it will sink down.
the outer wheels are better, but no real tread on them - ok if your pushing but not if they are driven!

They work quite well actually. If the ground is very muddy you can get spiked wheels

start by removing all the flux & shit from water ingress,
then remove and check the relay.
btw, the red & blue are touching - it should have used a connector there - cheap shit.

I'd check the two power mosfet's for shorts. The third TO-220 part seems to be a dual diode. Look for 5V at regulator U3 which powers U4 MCU, to see if the logic/MCU has power. I think the relay is part of a half H-bridge for direction?

i still suspect the relay - when mosfets short they usually explode.

When I received the device, the device has no function. After an investigation, I found that the PWM CONTROLLER RT6575B (U6100) is getting warm and there is a short circuit at the 3V3 output. This normally supplies 3V3 for the embedded controller IT5571E-128 (U301). When measuring and analyzing with a thermal imaging camera, I found that some components are damaged: SLG4E42553VTR (U8500), IT5571E-128 (U301), LAN RTL8111H (U450), LOGIC 74LVC1G08GW (U1900), RT6575B (U6100) All these components are on...

I've been dealing with so many complications for months, trying to find and then fix the root cause of the issue I really need help and I have to solve this on my own (Going to Asus headquarters isn't an option for me. First, because I'm very stubborn and want to insist that I can fix this sort-of-myself somehow, and second, the location is too far away for me anyway).

Right now I'm desperate trying to put an end to this nightmare, but OK, I'll do my best to be somewhat brief in explaining and relating the entire situation and context.

The treadmill was working fine, one day the belt snapped and after checking the unit I also noticed that the display is now showing the Controller comm error. So I opened it up and the treadmill had two boards. One is a power supply board and the other is the motor controller. I noticed there was a mouse nest, so I took power supply board out, cleaned it up, replaced the big capacitor and that did nothing. Then I took apart the motor controller and cleaned that up, and when I plugged it in, it started right up. I thought I fixed it. But when the belt arrived, I installed it and tried to power...

                                          BIOS Corruption - Cause
So I managed to corrupt my machine by installing linux and enrolling custom secure boot keys. I did choose to enroll the Microsoft keys as well, to prevent any potential bricking due to 3rd party drivers from HP being signed with those keys.
After doing that, and rebooting(it did boot, powerLED, fanspin etc.), the laptop did not give any video output on the LCD or video connectors. I think I was able to get in BIOS and trigger the beeper by pressing ESC....
