Re: Repair Fence Energizer SS-1000E Fi-Shock
I don't think they kill, otherwise dead cows, horses... but it does have a 20 mile fence range and burns through weeds and grass. Hmm.

i have seen the age BS a few times recently, it's jewtube's AI algorythm applying it based on the descriptions.
unfortunatly in this case the description includes the word "suicide"Leave a comment:

Re: Repair Fence Energizer SS-1000E Fi-Shock
All three, Bigclive, DiodeGoneWild, and ElectroBoom have nutty videos...
That second one clip has an age restriction on it too. I'm going to pass on it though I thought I seen it before (meaning, the restriction was added later or this was an edit to an old version.) Same reason for passing: no need for even more pinpointed tracking...Leave a comment:

a spark should jump across the electrodes when its working . best test is set up in the field and touch the fence .Leave a comment:

Re: Repair Fence Energizer SS-1000E Fi-Shock
good question:
test1: see if NEON yellow light turns ON.
test2: measure Volt difference between the two external rods.
test3: short them for a split second?? like this maybe: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ncPc8iNmyU
test4: take it to the fence and hook to wires, and see if it works

Re: Repair Fence Energizer SS-1000E Fi-Shock
You probably know the rest, but I'll spell it out for those interested!!
I was measuring my own "sweaty hands" as was struggling to make good contacts with the loose resistornow re-testing over and over, it is OL for sure, no nothing, just ===dead=== cut wire or burnt or something..
Thanks for the remark, learning a lot

Keep in mind, 600KΩ is near the resistance of sweaty human fingertips from hand to hand, and that's why it's dangerous to touch live voltages...Leave a comment:

Re: Repair Fence Energizer SS-1000E Fi-Shock
I think tomorrow we'll know
Thanks folks!!
BTW: tested the existing/good shows exactly 360 Ohm, the bad one, shows upwards to 600K Ohm, and sometimes 1M Ohm, and sometimes OLso, it's bad

Re: Repair Fence Energizer SS-1000E Fi-Shock
RJ already done the research for you and found the resistor for you so why not order two of them and just replace them.Leave a comment:

Re: Repair Fence Energizer SS-1000E Fi-Shock
Probably safer to replace one at a time since you're dealing with not-exact matches.
Anyway no point in replacing the other resistor - resistors usually aren't 'wear' items unlike capacitors...Leave a comment:

Re: Repair Fence Energizer SS-1000E Fi-Shock
found another with 350 Ohm / 10W, i think that is close enough to try replacing bothLeave a comment:

Re: Repair Fence Energizer SS-1000E Fi-Shock
OK, took the advice, and it seems like wirewound. Searching I've found THREE very similar resistors, pair of 470 Ohm 390Ohm, 330 Ohm, all 10W, the question is it going to work with either one? probably not want to mix the existing 360 Ohm...
any thoughts welcomed, that would be an instant fix, no need to ship anything

by jshhhHi guys,
I've been trying to restore this Yamaha RM1X groove-box I bought, and the first thing on my agenda was to replace a bad capacitor that was making it so that the screen was super dim. As I'm a complete novice I went and accidentally pulled off one of the trace pads for the SMD capacitor as I was removing it, pulling up some of the green PCB with it. I've been trying to repair it by gluing down copper tape from where it began to pull off and solder the capacitor on after...atm I've just been attempting to do the same kind of thing on rubbish PCBs I got at a recycling place,...1 Photo-

by XiranHi to all:
I have a Macbook pro model A1502
Board 820-3476-a
Liquid damage, cleaned with isopropyl.
Don´t boot in SMC Bypass, it tries to turn on without luck (check voltages, for example 5v usb intermittent).
I have two chargers, one is an original apple magsafe 85w 16.5-18.5v 4.6a max. And 60w generic clone.
Sometimes Stays with orange light, fan OFF. No heat.
Measures:
CLONE:
ppbus_g3h 12.55v
PP3V42_G3H 3.41v

Im troubleshooting Rx5700 GPU. Core voltage missing.
I have schematics and Boardview.
I'm currently troubleshooting a power management setup that involves the IR35217M and NCP81022 chips. I've encountered some issues specifically with the SM_ALERT#, SM_DIO, and SM_CLK pins, and I'm hoping to get some insights or suggestions from those who might have experience with these components. Current Observations:- The SM_ALERT# pin is active (pulled low), indicating a potential fault condition.

by ohrenHello!
I'm looking at an original Xbox PSU: Foxlink ftps-0002 rev. B. The 12 V output is too low, and the 5 V output is too (?) high. Unfortunately I don't have an oscilloscope but only a DMM for diagnosis.
Measured voltages with no load:
After rectifier diodes
12V: 6.17 V
5V: 5.67 V
Secondary transformer pins AC measurement (really don't know if this says anything)
12V: 2-2.5 V
5V: 1.04 V
I also have another (working) Xbox psu from Delta. The same measures there, in order, being: 10.79,... -
by seppdeHey,
I've recently sold a PC and (trying to reduce e-waste) told the buyer to bring me his old setup, and I'd take a look at it. Recently I've been trying to repair laptops, mainly, with so-so results.
I'm now looking at an AMD Desktop Kit with no display. Apparently this board reuses (possibly defective) Playstation 5 chips 4700s. It does not provide an internal GPU, or better say in any case it doesn't provide an output for the internal GPU.
There was one obvious fault: One of the caps of the CPU power rail was missing, that happened when the previous owner was changing...12-03-2024, 12:09 PM - Loading...
