Xbox360 shows E74 error on TV Screen, how to fix

hi guys i need your help, i got xbox360 shows E74 error on TV screen. so i did the following things, still not success.

1)-i did x-clamp on to heat sinks with thermal past etc, still i am getting same error E74.

2)-i did this back on the board, i remove 4 elastic white past (by manufacturar comes this elastic white paste there) & i put thermal past treatment then reattach that 4 elastic paste back on it, still E74 error shows on TV.

based on your experience, what is the best solution to fix this error. and its look like software error may be, because my mothermoard looks very new inside. so "how to fix Software error E74",.

or if you know any j-tag technique to fix this xbox360, please let me know, i will give a try.

    hopefully waiting for your replies.

    thanks for your help.

According to wikipedia, is sounds like a problem with the video scaler chip.

    Hope that helps,

hi guys, i did Oven Cook today for 2 hours 15 minutes, after done that, then i connect to TV. Now when i power ON then for a second i saw "xbox360 screen only one time" then i am getting Right side bottom 1 red light on for a second, there after this light goes off then on Left side i am getting 2 red lights ON continously, & on TV nothing shows.

so there is no more E74 error on tv, just black screen shows, so what i can do in this situation, hope i get some success, if you guys give me some advice. as i read "2 red light means - over heating problem", so how to solve over heating problem.

              thanks for your replies.

Did you remove all the capacitors? If not, they probably boiled/exploded...

Follow this guide word for word

                    http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/repair...-clamp_fix.htm

                    Especially the reflowing part.

The oven trick should have been your last resort. And the way I've gotten the oven trick to work was to preheat the oven to 500 F. Double wrap the board in foil, leaving the top and bottom of GPU and Scaling chip exposed. Bake for about 2-5 minutes.

But for the love of your XBOX, get the right tools like a hot air rework station and some no clean liquid flux.

                      Two hours?????

Commercial reflow is done for TWO MINUTES!

                      I think it is toast!

                        I know, right?!

                        I'm betting the capacitors exploded...

So many people think the oven/towel trick will do the job, but there is a 10% chance that it will fix the device ...

                          Should have done more searching/Googling.
                          http://xbox-experts.com/errorcodes.php

E74 is (or rather would have been in your case) an easy fix most of the time. 2 hours in the oven likely cooked all of your caps. You need to replace them before doing anything else now (IMO not worth it - Xboxes are cheap these days). Oven method works for PS3s but not for Xboxes.

Towel tricks and x-clamp "fixes" are even more retarded - DON'T DO THEM, EVER! IT WILL RENDER YOUR XBOX UNREPAIRABLE OVER TIME, EVEN FOR PEOPLE WHO DO PROFESSIONAL REBALLING FOR A LIVING. Whoever came up with those methods needs to be . Even a cheap heat gun reflow is better than those "fixes".

Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

                              Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...
