Dropped MacBookPro 15” 2012 shows black screen

    MacBookPro 2012 15” A1398.
    No visual damage was found.

Mac was inside of suitcase and it was inside of a bag.

Mac boots up,I can hear the chime, but the screen is totally black, not even “light” black. Caps lock light doesn't work.

    I tried SMC,PRAM reset, didn't work.

Reconnecting screen display by unplugging those two things didn't work. I used this video

    Reconnecting battery didn't work.

I also tried SMC,PRAM reset while the battery was disconnected and Mac was getting energy from the charger. Didn't work. I used that video.

What else can I do before changing the screen?I don't want to swap screen cause it's expensive.

The open lid sensor is in the trackpad. Fault may be there. Disconnect the keyboard and trackpad and test again. You can use tweezers to short the power button pcb pads to emulate the real power button. Search for smc on/off in the schematics. Do you have a high fan spin? Do measure the backlight voltage to ground. The lcd may be defective.

Hi. Thank you for response. I got 4 questions.
      1. I tried looking how to disconnect keyboard and trackpad on YouTube on my model, but didn't find anything.
My model is MacBookPro A1398 15” 2012 mid and it looks like that one in the picture below. Don't mind the red circuses,I just pointed the spots I tried disconnecting earlier.
Can you please help me find a proper guide to do this? 2.Won't shorting the power button shock me? I better wearing rubber gloves, right?
3.Can you please explain or send a video guide from YouTube on how to measure the backlight voltage to ground?
      4. I tried connecting Mac via hdmi to TV and TV says “HDMI no signal”. I thought,if the LCD is broken, maybe TV will replace it,but it doesn't even see my Mac. What does it mean?

Try removing the display connector in the bottom left and then re-plug the Mac into the TV. It should force output to the TV. If a picture doesn't appear, then it's likely there's something wrong with the internals.

When you attempt the PRAM reset, does the unit perform the double chime routine? It should power up with a chime and then after a few seconds perform another chime if you keep the PRAM reset sequence of keys.

Wait a few minutes and apply a torch / flashlight onto the front side of your LCD display to check if you see a flashing folder graphic. If you do not have a valid operating system on the SSD stick, the caps key will not perform the LED toggle.

Didn’t work. Weird how Mac does chime, but doesn’t work with tv via hdmi.

              Yes,it does double chime.
I don’t see a flashing folder graphic even if it is there somewhere because the lcd is probably broken.
By the way my keyboard don’t have led toggle,it’s an old model from 2012 mid. Screen brightness, F1-F12 are just buttons and they don’t light up just like the caps lock button.

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
                by smic717394
                Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

                Samsung UE55JU6800K half screen dark
                by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

Grundig 55 GUT 8768_55 (chassis gf) Black Screen, powers on and shows backlight
                by classypenguin
Hello, I bought a Grundig 55 gut 8768_55 (chassis gf) as a defect ‘black screen.

Now I have started with the basics:

Fuse intact, LED Tester says 123V, BL Cap has 140V, Mainboard to PSU 12V, 24V, 3.3V and 5.2V are avail+able, 12V and 3.3V at TCON (TV has no seperate Tcon)

As soon as I switch on the TV, it shows backlight, but a small grey line which disappears again.
When I tap Menu, the background light becomes brighter. What can I assume is wrong with the TV?
A defective mainboard? Or a software problem?

I would be glad of help....

Surface Pro 9, i5 version, lost touch on screen after upgrading hard drive, and ISH Power State shows Disabled
                by hotgly
After upgrading the factory 128Gb SSD to a 512Gb WD_Black SN770M, this surface pro lost touch on screen, no touch in windows or in UEFI.
The Human Interface Devices did find touch and stylus but it shows Disabled in windows device manager.
I am not sure if this is a bios problem or hardware problem, already tried reinstall and reset from windows, not working. And now trying to clean/reset the bios.

Computer model is: Surface Pro 9, i5, 8GB memory, 128GB
