    Asus G15CS Motherboard BIOS Issue

Working on an Asus G15CS system. Customer is complaining of poor performance. This is a prebuilt system and the BIOS does not allow modification of many settings and in particular the Asus Multicore Boost (Boost Clock) option is missing so the 9700F CPU never boosts beyond it's 3GHz base frequency. Thinking maybe they could unlock the BIOS by entering admin mode they also set and later forgot the admin password for the BIOS.

So one, wondering about removing the password, and two, if it would be possible to unlock BIOS setting to enable boost mode.

    BIOS dump attached.

Re: Asus G15CS Motherboard BIOS Issue

I've attached a copy of the latest BIOS update from Asus for this motherboard. I tried following the guide here:
    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=75292

but I get hung up on the following steps:
05.Now download the update file from vendor website and extract it.
06.Check the file size of downloaded file and bios region pass.bin.
07.it has to be exactly same in size(if size, differs then you need to edit the downloaded file in hxd and make it same size by cutting unnecessary data)

However, when I open the downloaded BIOS from Asus's website it doesn't have the same BIOS Region section as the original BIOS.

The downloaded bios has a header that needs deleting, you can do that with UEFITool or a hex editor. After deleting it the file length is 16,384KB but its not a full bios, its just an update, its 8MB .After making it the right size then you can follow the guide, but you would lose all DMI info, its a prebuilt system with a serial etc.
Attached is a merged, password free bios with all info intact and clean ME firmware.

ASUS ROG Ally X - (Handheld Gaming PC)
        Model No: RC72LA
        Serial No: SBNVKD001014459

Hi all, I've spent the past week digging through the forums and guides to try correct my foolish mistake of changing hidden settings while tinkering around, and to be honest my heads overloaded so I'm hoping you'll be able to help.

I used a tool called 'Smokeless-UMAF' to access usually hidden settings in the bios. I tweaked one or two 'safe' things but made the mistake of tweaking a lot of settings under 'USB/Thunderbolt Configurations' when I didn't know what they did. For...

        ASUS TP500LA BIOS request/repair/merge?
        by jbonavita
Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
        Some issues
        A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

        Things I tried

1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...

Samsung Series 9 - BIOS issue
        by Kjell
After installing Linux, I can no longer enter the BIOS of my Samsung Series 9 (NP900X3C) laptop. When pressing [F2] during boot I simply get a black screen. Same thing when pressing [F10] and choosing "Setup" from the "App Menu" tab. Apparently this is a relatively common issue with Samsung laptops of that generation, but unfortunately i haven't been able to resolve the issue (yet).

Things i've tried so far; reinstalled Windows 10, checked for redundant boot entries, tried to factory reset using the emergency keyhole, attempted to clear the NVRAM by physically...
