Seems like it may be encountering a problem during memory training? I've obtained a copy of the original bios dumps that were made by the owner who was using a test clip to read the chips. There does appear to be corruption in the me region on these dumps.... -
Thanks! I tried flashing these. System posts on but does not post. Fans run, keyboard backlight comes on, screen stays dark, no response from keyboard. After around 3 minutes there's a loud beep and it turns off, then it powers back on in around 10 seconds and this process repeats. Tried letting it sit 20+ min in case it was still going through BIOS reset process but no change. Thoughts?Leave a comment:

Lenovo Legion 7 Pro 16IRX8.
MTM: 82WR0000US
S/N: PF48QSDX
1st BIOS chip: XMC 25RH64CHIO (used XM25RH64C in Neoprogrammer), second chip XMC 25QH128IO (detected as XM25QH128C in Neoprogrammer)
Chips have been dumped with CH341a (w/ 3v mod) using Neoprogrammer with chips soldered directly to CH341a. A test clip was not used. But I believe the person who looked at it initially did try to program it using a test clip so it's quite possible the chips could already corrupted....Leave a comment:

Trying to fix a BIOS corruption issue on a Lenovo Legion Pro 7 16IRX8. The motherboard model number is 5B21L45527. First of all, can folks confirm which chips need to be dumped? Images of the top and bottom of the board are attached....

2021 MacBook Pro 14" M1 Blown Cap Near PMIC
Got a 2021 14" MacBook Pro M1 here that died suddenly. No signs of liquid damage. However there was a strong burned smell. Upon removing and flipping the board I found a burned cap C9400 near PMIC U9300. Photos attached. Should I just proceed with replacing U9300 and some of the surrounding caps? Also, I don't have any donor boards from this generation of MacBooks, maybe could locate a compatible cap from an older touchbar model?2 Photos -
Thank you! File from noname2024 worked. The original BIOS chip turned out to be bad, which is why my dump was blank. I was able to pull another BIOS chip from a dead motherboard and flash that and I'm back in business. Appreciate everyone help.Leave a comment:

I've got an Asus GX531GW-AB76 that is not posting after a failed attempt to flash v306 in order to enable undervolting. I've dumped the BIOS via CH341 us AsProgrammer and it is attached. FYI, the BIOS chip was soldered directly to CH341 for the dump, not attached via test clip so the reading should be good. The motherboard model number is 60NR02H0-MB1010. Thanks for any help folks can provide....Leave a comment:

X360 830 G6 BIOS
I need to remove a BIOS password on an HP X360 830 G6. I've seen references to the RCUnlocker tool in another thread but I'm not sure which BIOS chip to dump. I only see two Winbond chips, 25Q80DV and 25Q256JVEQ. I assume it's got to be 25Q256JVEQ since the other chip seems too small. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. -
Surface Laptop 2 Black Screen, Need Data
Working on a Microsoft Surface Laptop 2 model 1769. The system powers on to a black screen with backlight which cycles on / off 3 or 4 times then it stays off. Prior to this it would stay powered on but with a black backlit screen -- in those instances the caps lock light would respond but there would be no video output despite trying both a MiniDP to VGA and miniDP to HDMI adapter that is supposed to be compatible with the Surface Laptop 2.
Data is important so I'm hoping to salvage it. This issue is very similar to the earlier thread posted here but the Youtube video recommended... -
OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-0000i Disable CPU Fan Fail Msg
Got an HP Omen OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-0000i that was overheating and saddled with a terrible closed front case and roaring loud 120mm AIO cooler. Swapped everything over to a Fractal Pop Air case with a Thermalright Peerless Assassin CPU cooler. System runs about 20C cooler now under load. However, after a few days of testing the system has started throwing 90B CPU fan failure message. The CPU fans are working fine, as are all the other fans and the temps are fine, so I'm guessing it has something to do with the motherboard missing some data from the proprietary fan controller they had in the old... -
Razer RZ09-0410AE22 Dead After LCD Replacement
Working on a Razer RZ09-0410AE22. The owner tried to replace the LCD on his own but forgot to disconnect the battery (
). System now does not power on and shows no signs of life. I've removed the board and done some quick measurements on the top of the board showing steady 19v power. Photos are attached.
Some guidance on further troubleshooting would be appreciated.
Thanks.... -
Re: Asus Q551L Not Charging
Ahh, shit, sorry about that. I missed your second board view screenshot where you pointed out the dc in mosfets and the resistor. I'm an idiot.
However, we can mark this as a case closed-- I replaced PR8813, CHG_ACOK, resistor from a donor board, and was ready to proceed with retesting and then removing the CHG_ACDRV resistor but I figured I'd just double check the system and it is now charging correctly. Did a few charge up / down and power cycles and it's working fine.
I did make a side by side image of the board view...Leave a comment:

Re: Asus Q551L Not Charging
Hmm, pin 4 is cycling between 0 and .38v
Just to be sure that I removed the correct resistor, I've attached a photo. The area where the removed resistor was is marked in red....Leave a comment:

Re: Asus Q551L Not Charging
One other odd thing-- if it's sitting plugged in for a long period of time, 1hr plus, the system will power on and the fan will run. It's only happened with the bare board connected to power so I don't know if it's posting but seems worth mentioning.Last edited by mgrharry; 01-23-2023, 08:37 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Asus Q551L Not Charging
pin 16 = 6.11v
pin 20 = 19v
these are with the resistor for ACDRV removed.Leave a comment:
