How are you gone write to the flash chip? Using an adapter (like CH341A programmer) and the corresponding software?

If yes, why don't you download it directly from Asus website and unzip the file. Then open CAP file using UEFI Tool and do select: Action - Capsule - Extract Body. The resulting file you may write it back to the flash chip using the programmer.

You are right, thanks for the tip. Think I started out with the whole BIOS flashing with a dell laptop and then an x570 which was not as is extractable for some reason, It's a learning experience. This time arround it just worked.
