I have a MSI A320M-A PRO board in which the Ethernet port is not working correctly. I have spotted these small components, with some of them being ripped off. I can read the number "40" on them but I can't identify them. A little help is appreciated. Thanks!

Re: MSI A320M-A PRO broken component
Yes. Meant zoom out to review the surrounding components. On the posted pic - where are these damaged parts ?
Looks like a SMD shottky 40V diode.
Check with your meter in diode mode. Remove all power to the board.
If it is a diode, the part will conduct in one direction and block in the other.Comment

Re: MSI A320M-A PRO broken component
Well, I finally measured the diode behavior of these components. Just one of these is working as a normal diode. They all have 0.256V in one direction, but the other direction varies from totally open to 0.8V and 1.2V.
Could these be the diodes marked in the attached figure?Comment

I work in UK School so buying things from the likes of eBay is not allowed as it's in our internal financial regulations that we can't purchase things from there.
I've had a few USB-C ports that were damaged (2 were completely ripped off the motherboards) due to misuse from the 'little rascals' in our Schools. Fortunately I have some Spares and Repairs laptops that they had damaged/broken in other ways that I could salvage the ports from.
I was chatting with someone at Mouser and between us we were unable to find a correct replacement. I'm guessing they're not a generic... -
by chth96When I assembled dreamcast I mistakenly fastened long bolt and It resulted in
cutting tiny trace.
This tiny trace(Total width of white coating is 5.5mm) is between R337,R343 and IC101 and it is covered with white coating in the below screenshot.
Firstly I tried to bridging tiny broken trace with my own eyes...But it is totally impossible..So a week ago, I ordered G1200 Digital Microscope and I magnified this tiny broken trace with it.
But It seems that It is really very tiny trace So I plan to order 0.1mm coper wire from aliexpress in order to bridging... -
by DynaxSCHi,
I have an really very weired issue with ASUS ROG STRIX B550-I GAMING.
Some NVME (PCIe) SSD's are not working correctly in the second M.2 socket. An example of it is the SAMSUNG SSD980 1TB NVME SSD.
Some other NVME (I have only smaller ones) disk do work without any problem, also SAMSUNG disks, eg an MZVPV128HDGM-0000.
The behaviour is also really very strange, i.e.:- The disk shows always up in BIOS - so it is recognized, so far so good
- POST-ing with this disk with fresh Windows 24H2 installation (done in the M.2_1 socket) in the M.2_2 socket

by corrizeHello, I have a Fujifilm hybrid camera with an issue : the time don't run. I set 12:00 and 3 min later, the same : 12:00
I saw an obvious root cause : a broken quartz (resonator). But with the box broken, I can't read the marking code. Probably : 464… or A64…
I found on the web a picture of the same camera board but with marking code very different. Probably : A7…5N
I'm searching another one for compare…
Do you have an idea or another way for find the frequency of this resonator please ?

by emeskayWe have an Lenovo Yoga 710 15ISK that we use as a secondary laptop. To cut a long story short, around May 2023, while traveling, I connected the laptop into an electrical outlet that was already switched on. Something made a "pfft" sound and the laptop refused to turn on after that. After getting back home, I gave the the laptop for repair to an informal repair person. He replaced the adapter and an internal motherboard part, but after he returned it I noticed that the LCD did not look normal. Essentially, every alternate horizontal line on the screen had gone missing. The laptop was...1 Photo
