    Aopen AK73 Pro(A)

This is an older socket 462 motherboard, fairly basic in features. Every cap on the board was bad. Two 10v 3300uf, Twenty 6.3v 1500uf, and four 6.3v 1000uf. All Lelon caps. Replaced with two Samxon GD 6.3v 3300uf (only measured 5v), twenty Panasonic FM 6.3v 1500uf, and four Panasonic FM 6.3v 1200uf (1000uf not available)

Pics of the board prior to, and after recap are forthcoming.

    It'd be Aopen AK73, I can't find anything on the Asus AK73.

I believe that the AK73's were AOpen boards. Pictures will be helpful.

My bad, it is an Aopen. Just a mistake on my part! Pictures are coming, just taking longer than I thought. Here's the before pics:

I know AOpen could do better, I have an old AOpen AX6BC (slot 1) board that is loaded with United-ChemiCon caps and those good caps came with the board!

My neighbour also has that board and his board was loaded with Rubycon caps, and those came with his board too!

Here are the pics of the recap. Yes, I know the one cap is crooked. I couldn't get the one leg in all the way. Oh well!

                Looking good

I've been finding a lot of these on eBay lately... almost bid on one until I realized I'd probably be looking at doing a recap right away considering the age of them. Had a feeling I wouldn't get as lucky with the caps as I did with the AK79G-Max's default Chemicons.

ok we are deducting points accordingly........hehe...actually i would have been happy to get only one crooked cap on my board. looks great, especially with those caps and the black pcb.

watch it though when you cant get a leg in, there is danger to get pissed off and force it or overheat etc thereby possibly wrecking the board.

                      2700uF instead of 3300uF
                      by Satdude
Hey guys, I have a question. I need to replace the caps on my og Xbox motherboard, but I can't buy quality capacitors in my country with this specification (everything is either out of stock, with a minimum order of 1000 or just plain too big to fit in the Xbox). Can I replace the 5 3300uF caps with 5 Panasonic 2700uF caps? Thanks

Available replacements Rubycon MBZ 3300uf 6.3v low ESR?
                      by EFritz20
                      Hello everyone,

I have a few busted Rubycons MBZ 3300uf 6.3v that are used for VRM purposes on a socket A motherboard. According to spec 12 mOhm with 2800 ripple.

I have used the search engine and it appears the Panasonics are the ones to get, but those are topics already years old and these electronic ultra low ESR caps aren't availably anymore .

I can't seem to find any available caps on the known sites that are in spec of these Rubycons. Also i can't find Polymers with 3300uf or even close to that. Closest ones i found where 2000/2200uf ones but...

                      Xbox classic/original 10v 3300uf Polymer replacement?
                      by EFritz20
                      Hi all,

For polymodding an original Xbox i'm looking for polymer replacements of the following capacitor:

                      2x 10v 3300uf Nichicon PW
One is on the left side of the board, the other one on the right as you can see the picture i linked below (the two big brown caps).

Could i just use 2200uf polymers to replace them or do i really need the capacitance?

I have searched the forum already but could not find an answer for it.

                      Thanks....

                      3300uf 6.3V Poly recpaing
                      by xnRS
I got an old AM2 board with 3300uf 6.3v badcaps(all). So I want to change them with poly ones. Can you give me advice which capacity should I use ? I saw on one russian forum(rom.by) that capacity of poly should be around third of current leaky caps, but I'm not sure.
