Re: Xbox classic/original 10v 3300uf Polymer replacement?
That 1.0 board seems to have a different layout. I've got the one i posted in the picture above and i can't fit 5 caps as you can see . Guess ill just use the 2200uf polymers and see if it works, or not ....

Re: Xbox classic/original 10v 3300uf Polymer replacement?
I think you are talking about the black HM caps closer to the heatsink? That's exactly what i already did.
But my question was about the brown ones in the bottom left, and bottom right corner that i can't replace with 5 caps.. since i don't think this is for the CPU i'm not sure i could use 2200uf polymer replacements...

Xbox classic/original 10v 3300uf Polymer replacement?
Hi all,
For polymodding an original Xbox i'm looking for polymer replacements of the following capacitor:
2x 10v 3300uf Nichicon PW
One is on the left side of the board, the other one on the right as you can see the picture i linked below (the two big brown caps).
Could i just use 2200uf polymers to replace them or do i really need the capacitance?
I have searched the forum already but could not find an answer for it.
Thanks....

Re: [Retro] Asus A7N8X Deluxe Rev2.0 Power issue related to caps?
About 95% off the other caps on the board are OST caps from RLS series and it hasn't been recapped yet. I don't want to spend alot of time and money for a recap just to get the same issue back.
Somehow I keep thinking it has to be VRM. If it was for instance the AGP caps or memory then i would have expected either some BEEPS or the POST Voice mentioning AGP videocard or memory failure or something similar, but i get nothing and if "the brain is dead" it can't do much else, although all fans...

[Retro] Asus A7N8X Deluxe Rev2.0 Power issue related to caps?
Hello all,
I have had this motherboard for a long time and started trying to use it again.
As alot of you know its a Socket A(462) motherboard from the bad caps era.
Mine contains Rubycon MBZ 3300uf as VRM in and output. The caps look fine from the outside but the board itself has this problem;
If i turn the power off (completely unplugged for >30min) and then turn it on, the board will post just fine and i'm able to go into BIOS, modify it, save it and actually boot from it. Earlier I was able to install Windows on it, but now, just before it goes into...Last edited by EFritz20; 08-14-2021, 07:14 AM.

Re: Capacity challenge for Sanyo OS-CON 510uf 4v on older GPU
Its exactly the same as these ones:

Its a different card but you can see them on here too:

Capacity challenge for Sanyo OS-CON 510uf 4v on older GPU
Hi guys/gals,
I have this geforce 2 card that needs a recap.
It contains some nichicons but also some purple Sanyo OS-CON 510uf 4 volt according to the label. Unfortunately the product range is not on the label and i also cannot find the 510uf specs in their (older) PDF datasheets/catalogs using google.
Besides that, i can't find any matching 510uf these days either.
As a general rule I know you can deviate about 20% max on UF (510uf in this case), but what would/could happen if I were to use 560uf for it, since this cap can also deviate 20% and might have...Last edited by EFritz20; 05-30-2021, 12:58 PM.

Re: Available replacements Rubycon MBZ 3300uf 6.3v low ESR?
Thanks for the answers. I do have one final question, might be a stupid one.. but how can i see which caps are VRM input, and which are VRM output?
Have a look at the board here (or just use google )
Its about the 5 under the socket and the 3 in a row above the AGP slot.

Re: Available replacements Rubycon MBZ 3300uf 6.3v low ESR?
Thanks for your answers. I have checked my poly stash and found some 4V ones for VRM output side that will probably work.
Some more information; I would like to polymod the board, its an older socket A Asus A7N8X-E. So I would also need caps for the VRM input.
As far as i could tell the board is still using the 5V rails for it, hence the 6.3 Rubycon caps.
Would 6.3V polys work with a lower capacitance on the VRM input? since there aren't any 3300uf poly caps and the total uf will not...Last edited by EFritz20; 05-22-2021, 04:12 AM.

Available replacements Rubycon MBZ 3300uf 6.3v low ESR?
Hello everyone,
I have a few busted Rubycons MBZ 3300uf 6.3v that are used for VRM purposes on a socket A motherboard. According to spec 12 mOhm with 2800 ripple.
I have used the search engine and it appears the Panasonics are the ones to get, but those are topics already years old and these electronic ultra low ESR caps aren't availably anymore .
I can't seem to find any available caps on the known sites that are in spec of these Rubycons. Also i can't find Polymers with 3300uf or even close to that. Closest ones i found where 2000/2200uf ones but...
