Asus strix z790 F-gaming wifi power issue

    Good Day..

i have an Asus Strix Z790 F-gaming.. the issue is that 3.3v is present at power button and power jumper.. pressing power button/jumper wont start the board. simply no reaction..

If i force start it via pson to gnd with pincet and the psu is on. then pressing power button do starts the board and it boots as normal, once shutdown by holding power button. it agian wont start without starting psu 1st.

any idea's where the problem can be..? SIO is nct6798D. i dont have a datasheet so can not measure pins.

    please advise..

    Cheers

    Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue

    Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Asus ROG Strix 17 (G733ZX) Laptop Power Issue
    by klopez0017
I've had the laptop for about 2 years now, and lately, it has been acting weird whenever the AC adapter is plugged in. The issue is that when the AC adapter is connected, the charging often gets disconnected. This frequent connection and disconnection interrupts whatever activity I am doing, as it causes the laptop to underclock. At one point, the laptop even stopped charging with the AC adapter plugged in.

When I try to use the PD in one of the USB-C ports, it charges just fine. The only downside is that I can only get about 100W of power since that's the maximum it can take, so...

Intermittent Power Issue on Asus X553MA – CPU Voltage Drops ftom 0.89V to 0V
    by bajdik
    Hello,
I have a problem with an Asus X553MA motherboard. Sometimes the system works fine, but other times the CPU voltage drops to 0V. In most cases, the laptop reboots after a few seconds due to the voltage drop.
Occasionally, it shows the ASUS logo or boots into the BIOS. Sometimes it can stay in the BIOS for hours without issue.
I checked the board with a thermal camera, but I couldn't find any overheating or leaking capacitors.
Unfortunately, I don’t have access to the schematic.
It seems to me that when I bend the board, something changes.
    Could this...

ASUS ROG STRIX GL702VSK no power issue PQ8901, PQ8900?
    by ub6ib969
    Hi,

    working on a ASUS ROG STRIX GL702VSK 60NB0DZ0-MB1260 that does not power on. At the PQ8900 PIN2 (P_CHG_ACMOS_G_20) I am receiving 24.7V and PIN1 (P_CHG_ACMOS_S_20) 20V, however when I place the PQ8901 P_CHG_ACMOS_G_20 it drops 0V. I don't have the replacement mosfets ( N-MOSFET QM3058M6AC PRPAK5*6
UBIQ) however will any N-channel mosfet with similar parameters work ? I also found that PCI8703, PCI8701 are shorted. any help would be grateful.

Asus TUF Dash FX516PM Power Issue
    by garretofriviaaaaa
Hello, I've had a problem with this laptop for a while. I've replaced the motherboard after it died, and it was seemingly working fine after, but it stopped powering on after I shut it down. if I remove the battery connector and plug it back in, it will boot fine, but if I shut it down again it will not power up after that until I unplug and replug the battery in. When I press the power button the caps lock light will light for half a second but will not boot. I've tried replacing the RAM and the battery but still the same issue. The only thing I've found to get it to turn on consistently was...
