    Some routers can be picky with USB storage devices

    On a Technicolor TG799vac (Telstra - software version 15.3, firmware version 15.53.6467-510-RA, hardware version VANT-F), I had problems recognizing a specific model of USB flash drive (FAT32 filesystem) I was trying to use as network storage, but this function worked OK with two other USB flash drive (FAT32 filesystem) models I tried.

    The questionable flash drive (Dyna Store PA5168A-2MAB) was checked for errors (none were found) and it did previously work on a Netgear WNDR3700v2, and the significant technical details of the flash drive are:

    Device Name: Mass Storage
    Device Type: Mass Storage
    Description: Generic Flash Disk USB Device
    USB Hub: No
    Vendor ID: 058F
    Product ID: 6387
    USB Class: 08
    USB Subclass: 06
    USB Protocol: 50
    Power: 200 mA
    Capabilities: Removable, Unique ID, Surprise Removal OK

    The two other flash drives which worked OK with the router had a different Device Name, Description, Vendor ID, and Product ID.

    So therefore, it appears that some routers can be a bit picky with USB storage devices, even though they do not have security functions and/or require specific drivers.
    My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

      Ill bet its VxWorks based..

          format the stick with something else.
          this issue has been seen before when formatting memory cards on windows for use in the Nintendo WII

              Keep trying different things. I am told that SSDs have not been tested (in a USB drive enclosure) with my Linksys WRT-AC1200. But the one I am using now works just fine.

                      UPDATE: Under a Linux serial console when this problematic model of flash drive was plugged in, there was an indication that there was no DPO or FUA support for this model.

                          I’m trying to recover a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7-14ARE05 with board DA0LS3MBAF0 Rev:F. I’ve run into an unusual issue where USB-C PD is stuck at 4.7–5V and the system won’t boot (keyboard lights flash briefly, then nothing).

                          After that, the NX20P5090 power switch was visibly burned and was replaced

                          Hello, I'm stuck in troubleshooting…
                          The flash system works like that : when the (mechanic) flash button is pressed, the flash mecanically pop up, and a circuit buck boost elevate 7v (batt) to 200-300v (?) for charging the big capacitor. And when the photo shoot button is pressed, the capacitor is discharged in the xeon light.

                          In the D800, there is a first « power board » close to the battery. 2 wires (batt 7v) goes to another little « flash board ». I measured 7v, so ok.
                          When I press the flash button, it's detected by the system, flash icon appear on LDC display....

                          I am trying to repair a Dahua NVR4216-4KS2 that is not booting.
                          The main BIOS/firmware is stored in an SPI flash EEPROM (Winbond 25Q128, labeled as U130 on the PCB).

                          I have a CH341A programmer and I already attempted the following steps:
                          1. Identified the correct chip (W25Q128, 3.3V SPI flash).
                          2. Tried to read the contents with CH341A Programmer software. The dump seems corrupted and I often get the error: “Chip with the contents are in disagreement.”
                          3. Compared several chip type selections (24Cxx and 25Qxx families) to confirm it is indeed a 25 series SPI

                          Hello I've had somebody bring in one of these charming little cameras to attempt retrieving data from the internal 32GB flash.
                          Something is damaged inside the cameras lens assembly I can hear it clunking around and it has probably dislodged the sensor, powering up the camera gives a blank screen and the focus motor sounds like it's having a fit.
                          The camera will not connect to a computer via USB in this state, I have no options no navigation, just power up and focus/zoom motor noises.

                          I think my best shot is to figure out a way to read the internal flash memory outside...

                          I got here a Sony 65X950G - I tried to find any repairs guides for this model but not many online

                          here is the issue
                          I have Sony and android logo. but then 4 led red flash lights front of the tv

                          I have 3.3v ref. 12v reg then T con 12v when I press the power on button
                          but then I get black screen and 4 red flash light at the front LED
                          but I get 3 led flash on the LED driver board.

                          I check that few X900F or C YouTube repairs, seems that if you have 4 led red flash it could be due of LED black light error
                          so I tried...
