Please also post brand & model of the unit you are repairing.

Some clear pix may help too.

Datasheet shows 2005, so it may already been discountined as new.

i found a dastasheet dating 2007, but still didnt manage to find a replacement, if you had to use other type of package, would you have room for that?

Do some research on DigiKey & Mouser. A suitable replacement should be found. Be sure to check the block for "In Stock Items" so your not chasing a phantom.

              Pay attention to:
              Drain-Source voltage - Vds
              Gate-Source voltage - Vgs
              Continuous drain current - Id
              Pulsed Drain current - Idm
              Max Power Dissipation - Pd
              Turn-On Delay Time - td(on)
              Rise Time - tr
              Turn-Off Delay Time - td(off)
              Fall Time - tf

Start with voltage, current, package type (SO-8) and narrow the field.

I can not find any one with SI4946BEY in stock or the ME4946. what do you think about using a Fairchild FDS3890.

                    Re: Mosfet chip help

uk.rs-online.com has them but there's a 10 piece minimum and a £10 surcharge for amount under £100. Not the order, but for these alone. So for £17.10 plus shipping you get 10 pieces.

I ordered 20 from RS, thay called me the day after and said there can not supply them, thay can only supply them as a special order of 2500 units.

Ok. I saw that Mouser has 3300 of them on order and due in mid-September.

                            FindChips
Doesn't look good. You'd think that "status: Full Production" would make them a bit easier to find.
