  • Do you have any update about your case? have you tried to check the chips datasheet and try to adding it using the software available on ezp2023+ flasher? or maybe this chip is 1.8v?

If I were you better check the datasheet first so that you know the right setup....

That's why I'd ask if jumpering the pinouts directly will be also work? I'm afraid to damage the BIOS chip if I overheated the chip with hotair workingstation/blower. We are far from suppliers and other technicians if I damage the chip I can't find a replacement. These are the only thing I have look at the image.

I just want to ask if is it fine to read/dump bios without removing the bios from the motherboard? Like resoldering pinouts using jumper(magnetic) wire to programmer.
I am planning to reset or remove the bios admin password of HP 640 G9. The bios chip of this laptop is flat unlike other units that has spider pins and this I my first time repairing hp elitebooks bios.
I hope someone provided me a clear answer, I also would like to know what programmer is compatible for hp elitebook 640 G9 to read&write?...

  • Hello, I'm new to the forum, I've been a repair tech for phone for almost 12 years and 3 years repairing PC and laptop now for new laptop I need more deep understanding about the EEPROM or bios some of these on HP units seems a bit hard to remove CMOS/Battery does not work.
That's the reason why I joined to this forum to learn more about repair PC and laptops. I'm not a perfect tech in laptop and PC so I hope to learn from you and get some ideas. I can also contribute to any kinds of problem as far as I know the solution.
