Re: Dell H235P-00 recap
Hmm.. fan seems to be running fine with no strange noise. I need to research this "death adda" fan syndrome and get a replacement ready.

Re: LG Power Board EAY60803201 (YP42LPBL) from 42LE5300
Sorry, I was not clear in my post.
The LG training manual had two steps.
1st step is PS Board Low Voltage Test1. Just jumper Standby to Pwr on and check for 12V and 20V. This board already failed at this step.
2nd step is PS Backlights Test2. You are right about the 2nd jumper from Standby to Inv-On. Of course it failed since I don't have 12V and 20V even.
In any case, I have both jumpers on while I measured these voltages.

LG Power Board EAY60803201 (YP42LPBL) from 42LE5300
Hello all,
I followed this thread
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=57647
and it apparently was a capacitor C114 (per BUDM) that caused the problem.
Here is my situation:

TV only has standby LED. I recll it also makes clicking sound when try to power up.
Found the power board only has standby voltage of 3.5v.
Removed power board...

Re: Dell H235P-00 recap
OK, here are some pictures.
The small cap on the fan PCB is C818.
I missed one on the list. I did not see the printing on the PCB. It is the 1500u (3rd one from the line up) that is not deformed. I replaced it with 1500u/16V FM....Last edited by lucky13; 11-05-2016, 03:09 PM.

Dell H235P-00 recap
After a power outage, Dell Optiplex 760 won't start. Power LED flashing amber.
Suspect bad caps.
Crack open the power supply, and sure enough. there are.
C60 2200/10V > 2200/16V (Old cap measured 22uF & ESR 4.1)
C107 2200/16V LPZ > 2200/16V (Old cap measured 2244uF & ESR 0.01) <Wow
C114 680/16V > 1000/16V (Old cap measured 2uF & ESR 13.4)
C119 2200/10V > 2200/16V (Old cap measured 333uF & ESR 1.61)
On small board for fan, 100/25V > 2*47/25V (Old cap measured 0uF, ESR 30). I don't...

Re: Toshiba 47L7200U TV with thin vertical lines
Found youtube video showing 3 different ways to get into Service Menu.
Unfortunately friend said none of them works.
I told him the one for LCD should work but he said he tried many times:
Press MENU on R/C
Highlight PICTURE icon
Press 9, 3, 0, 1
and service menu should appear.
He also tried the other mentioned methods to no avail.
Looks like I have to go over his place to take the back off.
So, if the main board is the issue,...

Re: Toshiba 47L7200U TV with thin vertical lines
Thanks for the reply guys.
Since I have not picked up the set from my friend's place yet. I don't know what panel is inside.
Maybe I can search for the Special code to enter the service menu and find out what panel is used?
So panel is panel or T-con board?
Main board could also mean bad news as not so much Toshiba parts I find.

Re: Funai LF320FX4F Power Supply Issue?
So, you saying basically add this in parallel with the LED strip inside. This draws enough current to keep the BL on. This also allow one to inspect the LEDs inside the panel to see how many are dead.
I did cheezy fix like this before on LCD monitor with the older fluorescent tubes too. One of the two top tube was open and shutting off the backlight. I found a tube from another LCD monitor that is slightly smaller in size. I had the "lamp" externally hanging inside the monitor, above the electronics....

Toshiba 47L7200U TV with thin vertical lines
Hello everyone,
Friend has a 2012 made Toshiba TV and all of a sudden developed these vertical lines top to bottom, all across. The colour is also off too.
Here are a couple of pictures.
I am not a TV guy but have dabble enough with bad caps and he asked me to take a look.
Is this panel problem? Or main board problem?
Doesn't sound like power supply problem to me.
I have not opened it up yet to poke around.
Thanks for any tips....

Re: ViewSonic VT2430 power cycling
This TV needs a firmware update. You need to take it to the nearest Viewsonic service center. They should have the jig and firmware to flash it. Getting another eeprom chip that still has the old f/w is not the solution....

Re: Need help finding LED backlight fuse [PICS]
Wait, this spec sheet you found, is it for your original LCD or the new LCD you bought?
Maybe you can post pix of the LCD labels for each panel?
Assuming the LED backlights are off, did you / can you shine a light on the panel and see a dim image?
AFASIK, at least on computer monitors that use LED backlights, the LEDs are driven separately than the 40pin cable for signal....

Compaq Presario V2000 help
Hi everyone:
Got this for supposing to be a fan cleaning. User said it got overheated and shuts off.
Cleaned out the fur balls on the fan. Took off the heatsink and removed the "silver foil" that was actually pinched/ripped. Applied AS and reinstall.
However, the laptop actually cannot stay on with any kind of heavy load.
It can stay on the BIOS screen for a long time. The fan kicks in every now and then when the heatsink for the CPU is getting warm. As soon as the heatsink is cooler, the fan shuts off.
Since user has the...

Re: Biostar G31-M7 TE Ver6.0
Elite polymers? Thanks for the tip.
I've found a different post from 2 years back & Scenic provided a link to a Japenese site:
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=265241#post265241
I found the exact pix under the Elite brand. However, I can't find this series in the Chinsan site.
Anyway, my microESR meter says they have quite low combined ESR resistance (in circuit) and the total capacitance does come out ok. So I will leave these Elite alone and replace the KZG first to see...

Biostar G31-M7 TE Ver6.0
Hi Guys,
Got this motherboard for a possible recap. No bulging caps yet. However, this board will not POST once power off. You need to wait 1/2 a day or more with AC off. Already tried another P/S with similar result. Once working ,it will stay on 24/7. Reboot also works but just don't do a normal shutdown if you want to start it up again w/o the long wait.
I see there are 3x KZG 1500uF 16V at the VRM. I will replace these with HZ series.
There are 5 what appears to be poly caps with the marking Cs. Followed by UPS 820uF 2.5V. I've never see this brand...

Re: viewsonic vx2835wm no power
It's probably a p/s. Sorry I have not been able to find a schematic.
OTOH, replace the 2 caps on the Main board C124 & C126. They've been know to mushrrom.
