Replacement CCFL's for KDS 22" LCD Monitor

Tried looking on the WWW to see where I could get replacement bulbs for my KDS LCD monitor. It's a 22MDWB. Model #2200W

It's a 22" monitor. Unit had bad caps replaced and lamp socket replaced on the inverter board as it was crispy. Put it back together and it seemed to be working ok then it decided to shut down after 5-6 minutes.

Long story short, discovered the one CCFL was definetly screwed... deep black marks at either end an the connector on the bulb was cracked and there was black in the middle of the tube.

I'm in Ontario Canada if it helps.

    TIA

    Try

    http://www.ccfldirect.com/lcdbacklights.html

Your monitor may not be listed, but there may be an exact size/fit as a replacement?

I have no dealings or experience with ccfldirect.

Some manufacturer uses several different panel suppliers so a model# isn't guarantee to find you an exact repalcement.

      Is this your own monitor?

Would you accept slightly less brightness?

If you do, then you can purchase a CCFL for computer mod kit and hang that inside the monitor bypassing the bad light. You now have ambilight at the back.

Hi there, thanks for the link! Well this monitor landed in my lap because something was wrong with it. When it did work, the image on the screen seemed kinda washed out and the resolution kinda sucked.

I suspect the failing bulb had something to do with that as well as the logic board. Yes it's going to be mine provided my buddy can resurrect it. He's more of a brain surgeon than I am when it comes to handling delicate items like CCFL's.

Just by chance I had a pair of 21-22" bulbs in my shop from another monitor.. going to attempt transplant tomorrow if that fails.. I will contact KDS directly as the monitor is still listed as being current.

          Solder Boy,
Don'y mess with the panel if your monitor is still under warranty.

It's out of warranty.. that's the first thing I looked at. The unit is 4 years old.. it had a 3 yr warranty. When I meant it being "current" is that the model was still listed on KDS' website for support ie drivers etc.

Thanks for the info everyone.. just a brief update.. got the thing working finally yesterday. I emailed KDS and they never bothered to reply back.. anyway as it turned out I had a 21-22" CCFL in my shop.

Handed it over to my buddy who's more of an expert than I am and he installed the CCFL which by the way came out of an HP

Anyway put it back together and he let it run all afternoon and I'm now typing this with the KDS!

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

                  Hi Everyone

Lately I am experiencing the deja-vu incident on one of the led monitor like this.

The monitor is HP 27es LED Monitor

The monitor will randomly blackout and display no signal and will recover again.
Sometimes need to power and off again to restore the display but...

LG 23MP55HQ LED Monitor turns off after a few seconds or flickers.
                  by Rick_1234
                  Good evening, gentlemen.

I have a problem with my monitor. It turns off after a few seconds or flickers. Shining a flashlight on the screen doesn't show any image, so I guess it's not the "2 seconds to dark" I read in the forum.

To turn it back on, I have to press the power button twice. Then after a few seconds it turns off again or flickers. See video.

Replacement caps for Samson Resolv studio monitor 65A Amp board.
                  by black6host
                  Good day!

I have a Samson Resolv studio monitor that has no sound output. I've opened it up and found two caps that are bulging on what I believe to be the power supply section of the amplifier board. The board is marked Resolv 65A AMP V1.2. The caps in question are YUSCON, 2200uF, 35V, 85C temp and have markings of RA(P) and are 16mm x 25.5mm tall. I've attached the schematic and the caps in question are C5 and C6. I'm assuming they are low esr caps. I've tested both caps and they test low uF, nowhere near 2200uF.

I'm going to replace the caps and I'll be the first...

Wise Wing F199 19'' LCD monitor - recapped
                  by momaka
Looking through my repair pictures and notes, it's been a long time since I posted anything in the LCD monitors section. So here goes that.

I'm dedicating this thread to one of the very first LCD monitors I repaired (if not the first one), which was more than 10 years ago now. The monitor is a Wise Wing, model F199. It's a 19” CFL-backlit LCD. I got it for free off of Craigslist in 2009 from a guy, who said he bought it for cheap from Wallmart and the monitor worked only for a little less than 2 years before quitting.

When I saw the Craigslist post, I wasn't...
