Re: Dell 2000FP Blank screen problem

Hello, I'll have to bump this one, hopefully someone will help.

I have Dell 2000FP that died in the same way, all LEDs are ON, can't be switched off. I've gone through the thread and excluded lamp inverter board as the possible cause. I've desoldered both transformers, and figured out the coils, and both are the same and good. Also no burnt transistors, fuse is ok. By the way the monitor died (artifacts on the screen, DVI input stuck in power saving mode, freezing controls, garbled image while changing resolutions on rebooting and finally no picture and all LEDs "on") the other remaining cause is Atmel chip. And here comes the problem. The company that seemed to have them looks like to be out of business - http://www.lcdrepair.us/at49bv8192.html does not load, so I wonder if ANYONE have the content of that Atmel's chip (AT49BV8192AT)??? I have friends in GSM phone repair business here, so programming a new one wouldn't be a problem, but I NEED THE CONTENT!

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Main Board Problem:
Symptom: All LED Light lit up in solid screen and you can not turn
the monitor Off, there is no picture on screen. This is causing by defective main board, NOT
    Backlight Inverter board.

    Hepl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is interesting about, the message about going to sleep or no signal message detected because of a 2 sec to black problem
I have had similar problems with some Westinghouse/and I think Acer models that have used a delta power supply, They will shut the backlights of because of a problem, and then going into a sleep mode.
When the backlight problem was repaired everything worked correctly.
I am not sure about your high pitched sound. You may want to remove/clean and re solder the transformer.

    Try to google it.
From what I saw it said it's programmed.

This is not inverter board problem, but the main board, I ordered a rebuilt main board and problem fixed. I can see the flash memory chip has be replaced on the rebuilt board. The flash memory ATMEL AT49BV8192AT FLASH is available in the internet.

Thanks to Dgtech, here's the definitive answer:
5A, 24V, very fast acting. See this datasheet of Littelfuse. For reference, it's the 1206 SMF Very Fast-Acting Thin-Film Type 429 Series.

I don't understand why it is soooo hard to find a fuse marking guide for these. It's like it's a big secret or something.

These questions are all over the net, and NO ONE has a definitive answer...

It's on the inverter board of a Dell 2000FP, as shown on the attached picture I stole from the first post.

It would help to know where the fuse is used. I'm used to seeing SMD fuses on inverters, but .5A is too low, unless it's only for the inverter controller.

Also of interest, the references I've found (Littlefuse) shows their .5A slow blow fuse is marked TF. So another possibility is this is a fast acting 6.3A fuse.

I remember something Bill said when i was working on some other monitor about "resoldering" the leads of the transformer. So before removing the transformer (which is hard for me......soldering not my strongest thing) i decided to just add additional solder to the transformer leads. I also added solder to the bypass caps that are next to the transformer cause they looked like they could use it. I did this.........then plugged in the power.......and the monitor came to life. I get the monitor no connection screen which i did not get before.

So thanks BILL! You helped fix another one. Glad your back! Even more glad your ok.

I will probably add a little more solder to the transformer just to be sure i added enough.
I am having a similar issue as you had. Did it look like you needed to do some re-soldering on your board or was it just something you decided to try?

SHould i now remove the transformers or do somethign else?
The delay time on the 'two seconds to black' can vary. I've seen some where it is just a very brief flash - didn't even reach full brightness. Yes, go ahead and remove the two transformers and compare resistances out of circuit.

    Original Xbox 1.0 PSU: Foxlink FTPS-0002 Rev. B. — 12 V low, 5 V high — transformer?
    by ohren
    Hello!

I'm looking at an original Xbox PSU: Foxlink ftps-0002 rev. B. The 12 V output is too low, and the 5 V output is too (?) high. Unfortunately I don't have an oscilloscope but only a DMM for diagnosis.

    Measured voltages with no load:

    After rectifier diodes
    12V: 6.17 V
    5V: 5.67 V

Secondary transformer pins AC measurement (really don't know if this says anything)
    12V: 2-2.5 V
    5V: 1.04 V

I also have another (working) Xbox psu from Delta. The same measures there, in order, being: 10.79,...

Is it possible for transformer substitution?
    by mikey5791
    Hi all,
Got this local made DC power supply (12/14V) given free as the transformer has melted. There is no marking or indication to identify what type or rating of transformer used.
Fyi,. I had a busted autogate mainboard with transformer with marking 13-0-13 . Is this the 13v dc type transformer?
    My questions are
    1. How do i test to see if the transformer is in good working condition?
    2. Can this transformer (marking 13-0-13) be used to replace the melted transformer on the DC power supply?
Hope you guys understand what i was asking. My intention is...

Vizio E55-E1 bad backlights or bad inverter?
    by x_orange90_x
I just got this tv today and it appeared to have no backlight on. After taking off the rear cover and checking again in the dark I can see that MAYBE one quadrant is lit.. But still it's quite dim. I was going to check the LEDs with my tester, and I found LED 1 and LED 2 + pins on the wire from the inverter, but I couldn't identify a ground. Nonetheless I tried using a mounting screw on the inverter board and also the chassis as ground but regardless my tester reads 300 which is what it reads when there is no voltage draw.

I don't know how exactly to test the inverter itself. Is it...

    3PHASE STEP-DOWN Transformer in Check
    by dennis_elx33
    Hello All,

i would like to post an interesting topic regarding 3-phase stepdown transformer which we suspect to cause an overcurrent (138A) which resulted to power tripped off of the HV power supply (80KV output).

    Problem statement: Power tripped Off

Initial Problem: Found 2 IGBT and 2 rectifier diodes shorted (burnt).

    Action Done:
    1) Replaced the faulty parts with good spare.
    2) Measured impedance of the 3phase input lines and found that L2 to L3 has 23.3ohm while other pairs are 51Kohm. This pins will...

CH341a can erase and read but can't write and blank check
    by hasel17
So I am trying to repair broken thunderbolt FW on X1 Yoga Gen 2. The EEPROM chip is WINBOND 25Q80DVNIG. I already do a back-up and erase. But when I try to wrote new FW, it was successfull, but when I tried to read it, it still blank. when I try to do a blank check, it gave me instant error in address 0. I already tried two CH341A, already did the 3.3v fix mod, using AsProgrammer, NeoProgrammer, Colibri, and CH341A 1.29. But the problem still occurred. What I did wrong here? Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance. Here is the log in Colibri :
