Samsung 240T on screen ripple effect

Samsung 240T just arrived. Works fine except that the screen image shows the following:

Bands of 45 degree cross-hatching, maybe 1.5" - 2" tall, slowly make their way from the bottom of the screen to the top. There are two bands maybe 3" - 4" apart visible at all times. An image is attached, one band can be seen immediately below the NavStudio, RealPlayer, NTest icons.

Try moving the monitor elsewhere to see if it's RFI/hash from switching power supplies or the newer electronic "ballasts" of overhead fluorescents.

The SMPS caps and bad cap on the regulator on the mainboard. Sometimes a regulator oscillate because of insufficient filtering.

          I agree.

I've come across this several times on some acer monitors. Each time it was fixed by recapping the power supply.

Thanks Wizard and aliasdck, I intend to recap everything, parts arrived today.

Monitor has developed another problem, a thin horizontal runs across the screen about 1" from top, image attached. Sometimes it's there sometimes it's not. Can this be fixed.

Did the recapping cure the cross hatch problem? I have a Samsung 210T that has similar appearance. I didn't recap yet - I found a wire out of the connector to the LCD panel - plugged in properly monitor worked.

Sorry, guy. This was entirely my mistake. Apparently when they removed the cataract they also removed a portion of my brain.

<Background> When my opthamologist recommended cataract surgery I wanted to gather feedback that would be a little more personal than the information available on Web MD, etc. Given the choice of forums here, The VIP Room seemed most appropriate. UNFORTUNATELY, that's restricted to those with 100 posts or more.

Rather than hijack a bunch of threads, I've posted the results in a new thread in the PROPER forum (Off Topic / Lounge), and (hopefully) updated the link in my signature.

                          Let's give it a try.

                          And thanks for your patience.

Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

                            by Chrissygizmo
Hi , I've recently replaced the screen in my Samsung galaxy ao2s, at first it wouldn't even turn on, it had the charging symbol on the screen when plugged in but the green circle wasn't going around to show it charging....
Ive eventually managed to get it on and working but it's very temperamental...

The battery icon always reads as 50% , when the phone goes into lock screen mode i sometimes can't get the screen back on unless I plug the charger in to get it to light up, also it keeps putting the camera app on.. u think it could be something to do with the side buttons. ...

                            HI guys!

I've got a Samsung LH82QENELGC/EN with a problem and need some advice and I hope this is the forum to use?
I'm from Norway so I'd like to apology in advance if my description of the fault is kind of simple or the names on the components are way off. 😊

the TV is powering up, working as normally and picture is all good, except a 1.5-inch-wide vertical line of snow/static across the screen.

This TV is a Signage Display/Public Display version and it's been used at my work for 4-5 years showing commercials 24/7. The fault occurred when...

Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Have a Samsung UN50NU7400 which shows a boot screen and a screen saver if left on long enough but no picture ?

Would a moving screen saver confirm that the panel is ok or it could still be a panel issue ?
