iirc bad caps and a blown fuse were the issues on the last ones i fixed.

Operator error? According to your post, the backlight? monitor? comes on and you can see everything. What is the problem?

That is much clearer. This can be either a problem with the inverter or with the CCFLs. I've explained the problem elsewhere, but here is the short version.

The logic board controls the inverter via two lines - on/off and brightness. When the inverter is commanded on it turns the CCFLs on at full brightness, then after about a second it begins to check the current draw of each CCFL. If the current draw is too low or too high it will shut down all CCFLs.

One technique for testing CCFLs is to buy a CCFL case mod kit. This consists of two CCFLs and an inverter. By hooking the monitor CCFLs to the case mod inverter you can see if all of the CCFLs are working. And by hooking the case mod CCFLs to the monitor inverter you can see if the inverter is working properly.

Note that I didn't think this up myself, far brighter people than me came up with this idea. And it's not an absolute test. I've got one monitor that all CCFLs work with an external inverter and the internal inverter will light external CCFLs at approximately the same brightness.

hai,I tryed using an external inverter and the backlight worked just fine meaning my inverter is faulty. If I can get 9v across the input of the high voltage transformer then why would it to fail to work? The inverter uses the su'scon caps is this quality good enough? :noob

Normally the inverters use at least 12v.
              And Su'scons just plain "suck's".
              Pics would help.

Guide me through repairing a Dell p2210f LCD ccfl backlight monitor
                by DanPoka
I bought this p2210f dell monitor to fix. Schematic is the same as p2210.
Behaviour is that monitors comes on but then backlight switches off almost instantly. If I look with flashlight I can still find the "No signal message". So definitely a backlight issue. Trying to advance the issue I proved that the protection circuit is switching off the backlight by shorting out C3 and resistor to disable the INL chip then re enable by removing the short.
This is where it gets interesting. When I disassembled the monitor to solder leads on c3 capacitor I noticed the backlight flickered...

NEWSYNC B27F165 MONITOR HAS NO BACKLIGHT. board no: JY85QS_UPH_LS_R10.3
                by Zilicon
                Greetings everyone.
Please I need help with the above monitor.

Below is the summary of what happened and what I have done:

The monitor started by turning off 2 seconds after it was turned on. It displayed with a backlight when it turned on. However, the standby light remains on after it is turned off on its own, I have to press the power button again to turn it on, but it will go back to standby after 2 seconds.

The backlight driver IC is 0b3350cp.

I applied a 370k SMD resistor on the CMP pin which is pin 6, while the other...

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

AOC U34G3XM, new monitor, black screen with backlight on, possible shortcircuit during dissassembly
                by turmix
Hello, I'm working on a new deskmod pc project and have a problem with my monitor, an AOC U34G3XM, well, I may have bricked it.

The monitor was dismanteled and the separate parts parts integrated in the desk. the screen panel alone is on the upper part, and main board/video board + power board on the back of the desk (not enough place on the cover to fit it)
At first everything was working smoothly, then I decided to change the connexion between the video board and the screen for a longer one. Still working fine

During another reassembly, I made a mistake, and...

DIGMA PRO Art M Monitor 5K IPS 60hz only backlight
                by Chiro
                Hello everyone,

The monitor has no visible external damage and has not been dropped. Currently, the backlight is on, but no image is displayed. I have replaced the power and HDMI cables, and connected it to my laptop (the graphics card detects the monitor, but no image appears). The service menu is also unresponsive. Could anyone share insights on troubleshooting or repair options for this issue?
