If you wouldnt mind lending some assistance, id still like to try and troubleshoot this one, mainly for the learning experience. im technically inclined, i have a DMM and a basic understanding of electronics/electrical. im in no hurrry to fix this, so it would be at your leisure if not i totally understand no worries
                thank you

Re: hp f2105 monitor black screen

i decided to do some voltage reading comparison between the good working monitor, that you gave me and the one that i had, that doesnt work. and i have found an issue with mine but im not sure what to make of it. checking the voltage at F851 and F852 the voltage fluctuates between 10v and 14v. the voltage at the same locations (F851 & F852) , on the good monitor, is a steady 18.98v Any ideas as to what i should check next?

So i was able to fix the issue with the power supply board. I decided to replace the remaining 3 CAPS that i hadnt changed at the beginning. see attached pic. Once i changed those caps, the monitor powered on, solid blue light, backlight came on and it was even detected by windows 7, once i attached the video cable to it. But nothing was showing up on the display, not even the OSD Menu.

Ouch. One of the voltage regulators has likely shorted, and would explain the blown fuse.

The voltage regulator failure could well have been caused by the bad capacitors.

yea OUCH pretty much sums it up.... i hate when the end result is like this (being a component that i cant replace) im a mechanic by trade and instinctively my thoughts are to fix something, rather than replace. but it is what it is cant win 'em all. hope this tread helps someone in the future

Not impossible, you could buy here: https://www.utsource.net/itm/p/4911066.html
And soldering QFP is much easier than BGA...

The problem is if it needs custom firmware, which is not loaded from an external EEPROM. Then you need the custom programmer for those MSTAR ICs, and of course, the code.

What you could do is look on eBay etc for a universal panel driver board. That would let you use the monitor again. Though I don't know about image quality etc.

Might be cheaper than trying to find an exact replacement scalar board.

                                  ****FIXED****

Finally got it working like a champ. After replacing the Main Board, i went through and RE-checked all my solder connections on the power supply board. and voila!

What i have learned from all this.... When replacing the electrolytic caps, change ALL, even the tiny ones as well. they didnt look bad and i under estimated their potential for failure. Also when ordering new caps, double check their physical measurements as well as their electrical measurements. Caps are so inexpensive, compared to the price of a new monitor or whatever you are attempting to repair, that you might was well replace all of them. Although i did not have one, schematics of the board will save alot of time and headache.

A BIG THANK YOU to all of you who offered your help i greatly appreciate it

Well thats a good question... im wanting to say a bad solder joint on the power supply board. thats because after replacing the logic board, i still had nothing, and so i decided that ill recheck all the solder joints that i had done previously as well as any questionable looking joints. Then i fired it up and VOILA it started working. i now have had it running for 5days straight with no hicups whatsoever

Hello, I'm working on a new deskmod pc project and have a problem with my monitor, an AOC U34G3XM, well, I may have bricked it.

The monitor was dismanteled and the separate parts parts integrated in the desk. the screen panel alone is on the upper part, and main board/video board + power board on the back of the desk (not enough place on the cover to fit it)
At first everything was working smoothly, then I decided to change the connexion between the video board and the screen for a longer one. Still working fine

During another reassembly, I made a mistake, and...

                                        Hello,

YouTube video of the problem encountered: https://youtube.com/shorts/q7TLNv36LUo

I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.

On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.

I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.

I changed the battery with a new and original battery.

I also had corrosion/oxidation on the...

                                        Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Acer Aspire E5-574-52RH - black screen

                                        Hi everyone,
I have this strange behaviour with Acer Aspire E5-574-52RH, i5 6200U, intel graphics, DA0ZRWMB6G0 Rev G, model ZRW.
Laptop came in for a SSD upgrade, took everything apart to install the SSD.
Everything started after modifying BIOS settings to boot UEFI instead of Legacy.
Laptop works fine, i installed windows 10 and drivers/updates, everything works ok(when it works)
The black screen problem is random, maybe 5 out 10 times, laptop remains with the black screen, no image

                                        Symptoms are:
                                        - random black screen after displaying Acer logo...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...
