I was just reading about a trick where you remove the outer polarizer from an LCD, and attach pieces to glasses so only you can see what's on the screen.
Then I started wondering if it's possible to upgrade a cheap LCD with higher quality (higher definition) polarizers, at least the outer polarizer.
Also, I remember my Dad's 50" big screen (rear projection) TV had a "comb filter", and I'm not certain it polarized the picture from the three CRT's because it had a mirror inside, but even in the case of that old TV, would it have been possible to update it with a finer comb filter for better picture?
