Yes, I think it may be one in the same. They both have the p858 neck board too apparently

check between the transistor leg for shorts, although i suspect you have other problems - the heater is not related to gun-drive.

That is one of the drive transistors for the crt, (my guess is green) I suspect it is shorted and the extra current through the resistor melted the solder and it fell off.

Thanks, I will check out when I get this fixed. I re-Installed the resistor, still no monitor glow. I am getting a little bit of smoke, like steaming off. It looks to me like its coming from the heatsink I circled in red (attached pic). Any suggestions?

BTW, you should remove ALL those Brown/Yellow glues off the boards.

put it back and check the rest of the joints - specially on large parts.

can you foto the factory sticker with the monitor details on it?

as it's NAOMI based, you would be better getting a NET-DIMM board and loading games from a raspbery pi or a pc as a multi-game cab
then you can put all this on it.

That is exactly what I plan on doing in the near future. (rpi3) I build bartop arcades for a living. I am attaching a pic of the monitor Sticker, if this is the one you want to see.

    yes, it's probably fine.
strange though, naomi systems usually use a japanese monitor.

  • WGM2792 Arcade Monitor Resistor Burn Off On Neck Board *Need Help*

Hello all. I just Bought a Sega Sports Jam Arcade Machine with the intent on fixing it, and maybe later converting to a mame machine. I have done many in the past The sound is heard, but the CRT monitor does not turn on @ boot. When i took the back monitor cover off the machine I found a white ceramic resistor that was just laying in the metal monitor cover. After inspecting a minute I noticed r242 was missing from the neck board, and a black spot was left behind. My question is: should I just order a replacement resistor, or should I further investigate to find out what caused the resistor to fail (and/or fall off). I am just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction of what to check for? The monitor is a WGM2792-U0TS29K, the neck board is a p858. Resistor is 10w 1.5k . I will attach pic of neck board...

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair
    by momaka
Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

HANNSG Hi221 -- 2 secs to black feat. CCFL flicker & "burn" marks on power board
    by ttmi100x
    Greetings everyone,

I have a HANNSG Hi221 monitor that exhibits two seconds to black issues (backlight goes off, display is still on as confirmed by shining a flashlight on it) with some additional oddities...

The monitor failed on me with a standard "2 seconds to black" some time ago prompting me to initially replace most of the electrolytic capacitors (some of them were bulging/leaking).
Things kinda sorta worked for a night, then the problem returned along with some flickering and "buzzing" noises.

    Upon closer inspection...

Look for the resistor value in the BenQ G922HDAL monitor's power supply
    by Safrilhg
Hello guys, I had a problem where I didn't know the value of the burnt SMD resistor in the power supply circuit of the BenQ G922HDAL monitor.

In one of the parts, there is a burnt SMD resistor which leads to the LD7560GS IC as shown in the picture below.

How to determine the appropriate SMD resistor value for this condition? Thank You...

    Arcade PSU blown resistor ID
    by redbaron1007
I'm working on one of the PSU's in my backlog today that came out of an NBA Jam arcade machine a year or so ago. The PSU is a Pan Yes brand with a model number PY-TV-C. From what I remember the 12v rail wasn't outputting anything. I opened it up and was reminded that the resistor at R28 had blown it's shell off and I have no idea how to ID a replacement for it. (see pictures) The color bands that are still intact a little are brown, black, missing band/bands, and what I'm assuming is silver. When I check it with my DMM it's reading 100ohms exactly but I don't know if that's what it's supposed...

    AOC AG493UCX 49-inch monitor - Firmware request
    by wattage
    Hello Badcaps Community,

I purchased a preowned AOC monitor that is not working and out of warranty. It was sold as not working. I am looking for guidance on self-repair. In particular, I am after the firmware for the monitor. At the end, I have included monitor model information and links to pics and vids of the issue.

The problem is that it will not display a picture on any of its inputs. And the on-screen menu does not appear. The power button works properly. It powers on with the remote as well. But the on-screen menu does not appear, even when not connected to any...
