Re: WGM2792 Arcade Monitor Resistor Burn Off On Neck Board *Need Help*
can you meter the pins on the back of the tube,
all combinations.
most will show nothing.
what we are looking for is if the gun related to that resistor is shorted to something else - such as the heater!

Re: WGM2792 Arcade Monitor Resistor Burn Off On Neck Board *Need Help*
I would rather try to figure out the issue before making all the final connections. Wouldn't this be a good idea?
Would having a shorted q201 cause r242 to heat up? thxLeave a comment:

Oh left that out, q212 looked ok as far as I can tell too. About .658 B2E / B2C and open E2B and C2BLast edited by proaudiosoft; 09-02-2016, 08:41 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: WGM2792 Arcade Monitor Resistor Burn Off On Neck Board *Need Help*
q206 has broken solder joints, the narrow chip needs completely resoldering,
the resistor that fell out needs re-soldering.
by resoldering i mean remove the old solder first.Leave a comment:

Re: WGM2792 Arcade Monitor Resistor Burn Off On Neck Board *Need Help*
r215 reads 2.5 ohms (i think its marked 2), and r267 reads 1.1 ohm.
Interestingly, i accidently wrote q201 down instead of q211 at first, i tested it pulled and got readings everywhere, looks bad. 201 and 211 are c35502e resistors. I am going to take pics of the board with glue off as Budm requested too... Hope this gives you more insightLeave a comment:

That resistor is for the blue crt drive, even with it out you should get a picture, just missing blue. so I suspect once this fault is found there will be anotherLeave a comment:

Re: WGM2792 Arcade Monitor Resistor Burn Off On Neck Board *Need Help*
r242, then looking at the schematic,
check d208, q211, q212 for shorts.
also, check the resistance of r215, and r267 in the heater circuit.Leave a comment:

Picture of the bottom side of the board? You should also remove the black stuff and the glue off the board so we can see the Green paint lines on the top side of the board.Last edited by budm; 09-02-2016, 05:12 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: WGM2792 Arcade Monitor Resistor Burn Off On Neck Board *Need Help*
Update, The resistor I soldered back in desoldered it self and came out again. grrr. Something is definitely making that resistors joints heat up to the point its falling out. Any and all help appreciated.Leave a comment:

Yes, I have +8.63v dc at 203, also 12.3v, and 69v but still no glow?Last edited by proaudiosoft; 09-02-2016, 01:34 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: WGM2792 Arcade Monitor Resistor Burn Off On Neck Board *Need Help*
Do you have the any of the voltages on P203? +8 volts is for the heaters, if you don't have it, check back to the power supply on D811 and R858Leave a comment:

Re: WGM2792 Arcade Monitor Resistor Burn Off On Neck Board *Need Help*
I get .682 base to emmiter, and .679 base to collector.
emmiter to base and collector to base shows open. from what I can tell its good.
what should I do from here?Last edited by proaudiosoft; 09-02-2016, 11:43 AM.Leave a comment:

by momakaNormally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow.
But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though.
I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

by ttmi100xGreetings everyone,
I have a HANNSG Hi221 monitor that exhibits two seconds to black issues (backlight goes off, display is still on as confirmed by shining a flashlight on it) with some additional oddities...
The monitor failed on me with a standard "2 seconds to black" some time ago prompting me to initially replace most of the electrolytic capacitors (some of them were bulging/leaking).
Things kinda sorta worked for a night, then the problem returned along with some flickering and "buzzing" noises.
Upon closer inspection...6 Photos-

by SafrilhgHello guys, I had a problem where I didn't know the value of the burnt SMD resistor in the power supply circuit of the BenQ G922HDAL monitor.
In one of the parts, there is a burnt SMD resistor which leads to the LD7560GS IC as shown in the picture below.
How to determine the appropriate SMD resistor value for this condition? Thank You... -
by redbaron1007I'm working on one of the PSU's in my backlog today that came out of an NBA Jam arcade machine a year or so ago. The PSU is a Pan Yes brand with a model number PY-TV-C. From what I remember the 12v rail wasn't outputting anything. I opened it up and was reminded that the resistor at R28 had blown it's shell off and I have no idea how to ID a replacement for it. (see pictures) The color bands that are still intact a little are brown, black, missing band/bands, and what I'm assuming is silver. When I check it with my DMM it's reading 100ohms exactly but I don't know if that's what it's supposed...

by wattageHello Badcaps Community,
I purchased a preowned AOC monitor that is not working and out of warranty. It was sold as not working. I am looking for guidance on self-repair. In particular, I am after the firmware for the monitor. At the end, I have included monitor model information and links to pics and vids of the issue.
The problem is that it will not display a picture on any of its inputs. And the on-screen menu does not appear. The power button works properly. It powers on with the remote as well. But the on-screen menu does not appear, even when not connected to any...-
