Re: Another Dell 2005 FPW
I would say you do have bad connection at the end of the lamp.

Re: Another Dell 2005 FPW
I don't smell anything and it flickers about 1 to 2 min then screen is great! It sounds like it's coming from the lower left hand corner of the screen.Leave a comment:

Re: Another Dell 2005 FPW
Well I started trying to adjust brightness and contras and it has stopped making the arcing sound in the lower left hand corner and the screen is solid! Put it all back together and turned it back on and it was flicking just a little but went away in just a couple min. I'm thinking bad solder joint maybe?

It's still a good idea to pinpoint the joint and reflow. Could you trace it?Leave a comment:

OK I used the invertor board from this monitor and the main board from the other monitor and this is what I get now.

Re: Another Dell 2005 FPW
I would do it the other way round= as this screen is sort of working then the boards must be sort of working- so try the screen off the other monitor on these boards.
Did you have a known working source connected to the monitorLast edited by selldoor; 04-13-2015, 02:30 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Another Dell 2005 FPW
that sounds like it could be the ribbon cable or logic board.
you said you had two of the same monitor, but the other one does not turn on?
you could, if they use the same internals swap the power board with the one that doesn't turn on, and might have yourself one of them working.Leave a comment:

Another Dell 2005 FPW
I have another Dell 2005 FPW monitor with this problem. It has vertical lines thru out the screen. It not that the pic is blurry, but I took a small movie of the screen then took a screen shot of it. At least the screen comes on on this one. Maybe between the 2 I can make at least one of them work. Have not taken this one apart yet. Wanted to get some ideas first.Last edited by Nightwolf; 03-20-2015, 09:57 PM.Tags: None

I am a pro and I have a problem that I have never seen despite my 7.5 years of experience on my own and my thousands of repairs, on a customer's Dell G3 15 3500.
On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.
I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.
I changed the battery with a new and original battery.
I also had corrosion/oxidation on the... -

by jake-bgood morning all,
i purchased a used dell e6540 laptop used 10 months ago from a vendor on ebay. intel i-7 processor, 16 gb ddr3 memory, 256 gb ssd., mobo la-9413p (rev 1.0 dated 2014-08-04). i've inflicted no damage on it since purchase but its past is unknown. starting 2 weeks ago it began to fail to boot (initially 9 of 10 boot attempts failed, now 10 of 10 fail). there was no new hardware or software added (i was using as a kodi video server). the post process doesn't complete and booting no longer displays the dell logo screen - screen remains black with no backlight. some other... -
by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
