Re: Another Dell 2005 FPW
Did a search on the board number, and it looks like it was made for Dell only.

Re: Another Dell 2005 FPW
OK, cleaned the flux un-soldered and re-soldered that connection, look good now. Measured the caps, I have set of 3 in parallel and a set of 2 in parallel. All of them are 820uf 25 v. The first set reads 860uf in circuit, out of circuit they each read 531uf. A total of 1590uf, SB 2460uf.
The second set reads 1410 in circuit and 700 out of circuit. The big cap reads 131uf in circuit. Cap value is 150uf. Did not take that one out. This board is made by Samsung Model IP-82125A. Does anyone have the board print of this?Leave a comment:

Re: Another Dell 2005 FPW
The other board is the one that flashes the power and input button on and off and both panels do the same thing. cleaned the flux off and re-soldered that connection. turned it on last night in the dark and could see nothing arcing anywhere. Maybe a cap breaking down internal, dont know.Leave a comment:

Re: Another Dell 2005 FPW
Well you have two sets of everything. Both power supply boards are doing the same thing?Leave a comment:

Budm, any suggestions on where to go now?Leave a comment:

Re: Another Dell 2005 FPW
Just clean off the flux and re-solder.
But you also have two power supply/inveter boards, so both of them doing the same thing?
This original one was not flickering?

And how about the suspected bad inverter transformer? You have TWO units that you can swap parts.
BTW, so you did not remove the lamps to get to see the condition of the lamp and the connection at the end of the lamp?Last edited by budm; 05-18-2015, 09:38 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: Another Dell 2005 FPW
Well, thought I found the problem.
But still doing it and it does it on both panels!
Any suggestions as where to go next?
This is pin 1 of T101. It flickers from 1 to 5 min, depending how long it has be off, then it looks great.
I see no arcing anywhere around the tubes or wiring going to them. The fact that it does it on both panels
suggests it is on the inverter board, but cant see anything.Last edited by Nightwolf; 05-17-2015, 09:48 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Another Dell 2005 FPW
Well, couldn't see any signs of arcing after taking it apart as far as I could figure out, so put it all back together and got the other panel and plugged it in and it does the same thing! Must be something on the inverter board, so looking at it again real close.Leave a comment:

Re: Another Dell 2005 FPW
OK back to this one. Trying to figure out how to get to the lamps. No signs of arcing on the outside that I can see. What do I take apart noe to get to the lamps>

Re: Another Dell 2005 FPW
The other board, which is in this monitor right now, is a 2 x 4 pin. So now sure if the resistance reading would be the same or not.Leave a comment:

Try this thread:

Since you have two boards, you can try swapping the transformer.Leave a comment:

Re: Another Dell 2005 FPW
This is the invertor that was in this monitor.
As you can see the second transformer from the right is discolored.
Does anyone know what the resistance measurements are on these?
This board is what was causing the monitor and front panel LEDs to blink.Leave a comment:

Re: Another Dell 2005 FPW
I agree, check for bad wiring or signs of arcing, if the monitor was left on while you were away, it could possibly cause a fire!Leave a comment:

Re: Another Dell 2005 FPW
This is the one that had the lines through it. I put the other main board in it. Your second link is the one that was in the other display, both displays have 6 lamps, transformers has 6 leads on one side and 2 for the output side. This one, the transformers have 4 leads on one side 2 on the output side. I'm thinking I tried both screen and the other one flickers then goes out. Hope you followed all that. LOLLeave a comment:

Re: Another Dell 2005 FPW
Yes.
Typical bad wiring:
http://s807.photobucket.com/user/bud...?sort=3&page=1
is this same one you have?
http://s807.photobucket.com/user/bud...?sort=3&page=1
It uses six lamps!
Look at the corner back side of the screen to see if there is any signs of problem in that corner of the screen.
20" monitor may not be worth fixing, but you do have one bad screen that you can take apart, right? The one with bad lines does not make arcing noise, correct? otherwise you can swap the LCD glass panel to the with good lamps.Last edited by budm; 05-12-2015, 11:41 AM.Leave a comment:

On this PC I have already changed the complete palmrest because the keyboard was no longer working properly.
I also changed the screen because the PC fell and the screen was broken.
I changed the battery with a new and original battery.
I also had corrosion/oxidation on the... -

by jake-bgood morning all,
i purchased a used dell e6540 laptop used 10 months ago from a vendor on ebay. intel i-7 processor, 16 gb ddr3 memory, 256 gb ssd., mobo la-9413p (rev 1.0 dated 2014-08-04). i've inflicted no damage on it since purchase but its past is unknown. starting 2 weeks ago it began to fail to boot (initially 9 of 10 boot attempts failed, now 10 of 10 fail). there was no new hardware or software added (i was using as a kodi video server). the post process doesn't complete and booting no longer displays the dell logo screen - screen remains black with no backlight. some other... -

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
