IIyama Prolite E2710HDS - Screen distorted

    Hi guys,

After 4 years, my IIyama has packed up.
Initially I thought it was the pc, but after a lot of testing I concluded it was the monitor.
(Testing done includes - swapping graphics cards, DVI \ HDMI cables and setting up dual monitors)

Heres a screenshot of my screen.

When this first started happening, I found that turning the monitor on and off several times eventually resulted in a usable screen.

Is there anything I can do to revive it?

Let me know what information you need.

Not sure it is the monitor but have seen nothing like that before.
Have you another pc or laptop you can connect it to?

        Hi Guys,
It appears that the HDMI and DVI inputs are the problem.
I've currently got it using the VGA and it seems fine. (Only just found this out)

I've plugged the monitor into my PS3 (HDMI cable) and the same issue appears.
Each time I turned the monitor on and off the display got a little better or worse, but never normal screen.

I've tried different graphics cards, an hdmi cable and a DVI cable all resulting in the same sort of screen. I also have a 19" monitor that works fine when plugged in to the graphics card, although thats also a VGA input.

Well, if you have been using hdmi as plug and play that may have wrecked the hdmi controller chip but not sure by that would affect dvi
Have you tried with different resolutions or 720 v 1080

I am adding apic of the screen so when the offsite one disappears future enquirers will see what we are talking about

HDMI is just DVI with audio and a much cheaper shitty connector.

btw, i'm surprised you got an image from a ps3 in the u.k.
the ps3 pal video is 50hz and most monitors wont sync under 60hz.

then again - maybe that's the problem.
what vertical refresh rate was your pc outputting on DVI?

The monitor always used to work on the PS3.
Although it had been a while since Id had the PS3 plugged into the monitor.
I've always connected my pc to the monitor using a DVI cable

I think the DVI refresh rate was 60 Hz, which is the maximum it would go for DVI and HDMI @ 1920x1080
As far as I remember, its always been set to 60Hz

I've just looked in there now and the refresh rate is 60Hz @ 1920x1080. I've also got the option of several increments increasing up to 75Hz.

Need help replacing led strip on Iiyama Prolite XUB2390HS monitor
                by mikey5791
                Hi,
Got this working ips led monitor by the brand of
Iiyama Prolite XUB2390HS presumably a 23 inch type given to me with suspected bad led backlight. To test it, i unplugged the bad flat ribbon type connector and plugged it a good flat ribbon led connector scrapped from a HP Pavillion 27cw (led strip with 60 led). Good news is the HP led strip lights up but not fully, in between there are about 15 unlit leds.(as picture attached shows).

Fyi, i had not opened and removed the old bad led strip. My question is whether is it possible to cut some of the extra leds(say...

AOC U34G3XM, new monitor, black screen with backlight on, possible shortcircuit during dissassembly
                by turmix
Hello, I'm working on a new deskmod pc project and have a problem with my monitor, an AOC U34G3XM, well, I may have bricked it.

The monitor was dismanteled and the separate parts parts integrated in the desk. the screen panel alone is on the upper part, and main board/video board + power board on the back of the desk (not enough place on the cover to fit it)
At first everything was working smoothly, then I decided to change the connexion between the video board and the screen for a longer one. Still working fine

During another reassembly, I made a mistake, and...

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair
                by momaka
Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

A2141 Screen replacement. Boots screen freezes on Apple Logo 1/3 status bar unless connected to second monitor.
                by abajor
                Having this very weird issue.
The owner of this laptop complained about screen being intermittent when opening and closing, and has been using the laptop on a thunderbolt video connection since the screen failed.

I swapped with a working screen from an A2141 waiting for parts.

The Os exhibits this weird behavior where it boots to to 1/3 the status bar, then it makes the boop sound. It's at the log in but for whatever reason the desktop isn't loaded.

The laptop boots fine into recovery mode. I updated from Monterey to Sonoma and the laptop still has...
