LG 787LE with molten metal film

    Hi,

I have an LG 787LE monitor with 2 faulty caps. It appears they have been hit by a surge. I'm trying to find replacements but am having difficulty matching size with value. They are marked as "2μ2J 63". According to guides I found on the net that would make these 2.2uf 5% 63v. However units of similar specs are much larger (at least the ones i found). These 2 are 7.5mm long 6mm wide and about 13mm tall with a pitch of 5mm. The only other marking on them is what I assume is a manufacturers logo, it looks like a "T" with the vertical line like this "/". You can see the deformation quite easily (sorry about the picture quality)

If any one can help with a suitable replacement or an exact that would be great.

    Cheers,

Unless they are doing anything important (i.e. they are part of the high-volts side of the PSU or similar) you should be fine with almost any capacitor of equal rating.

they are part of the low voltage inverter circuitry

Thanks that looks like the right one.

              Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

After hitting the metal part of the touchpad or the sides of the mouse is metal, the system locks and the image crashes !

disassemble notebook and this cover on top picture I insulated all the bases on which the screw is fastened so that static electricity does not cause this problem again but not working !

Sometimes, when I didn't work with the notebook for a few minutes, after I touch the touchpad, the image confused and the system locks ( See Down Picture). I have to turn the system...

Help with a poorly looking component identification plea

A friend of the family has handed me a food warmer that has failed on her.
I appreciate that some people will alert me that it is probably cheaply made, but she has extremely limited mobility, and it is perfect for keeping her food nice and warm, once her carers have left.

It has 2 power options (either 12V DC cigarette lighter or AC 240v IEC C7 socket).
Basically, it powers 2 x PTC elements which are attached to a metal plate.
A (removable)metal deep tray is then placed on-top of the small plate which keeps the food nice and warm.

              I thought at first...

1970 Metal Lathe Control Circuit blowing fuses on the 120 volt section failing meager test below 60 mega ohms
              by sam_sam_sam
I was working on this machine yesterday and I now going to use an incandescent lights instead of a fuses to figure out what the issue is with it blowing control voltage rail but this not the only issue the coolant pump failed the meager test as well as the main motor as well this motor has 12 motor wire leads instead of the normal 9 wires

This metal lathe has a weird motor setup it has a soft start motor with a “Y” and a delta type of motor winding setup and it is not done in the motor pucker head enclosure it is with four different contactors wired in a configuration I have not...
